I am about to send for my new fixed sandy bridge motherboard but had some questions. I got an OEM version of windows 7. I have heard that oem windows installs are tied to the motherboard. Am I going to need a new windows key?

Also i figured i should get i decent heat sink now that i have to take out the processor. Does anyone have any good recommendations? Not looking for anything crazy just enough i can get a little overclocking in. Also what is the processes of cleaning off the old paste(using stock intel heatsink now) What is the best paste to get now?

Thanks for any help was hoping i wouldn't have to get into this stuff so soon.

Re: Windows - I shouldn't have to reinstall it right? It should boot up but MIGHT give me some sort of error like I need to call a number to reactivate?

I'd prefer not to have to reinstall all programs again.

Well that's good news about the windows install/code. I have heard that you need to clean the chip real good when changing heatsinks.....specifically when you have used a stock heatsink/thermal paste. Something about wax in the paste they use or something. What is the best way to remove the thermal paste from the chip? Also i am replacing a asus p8p67 pro......will the heatsink recommended fit with that board. I have seen some videos of people not able to install certain back plate style mounts.

Thanks again

Yes, I have an Asus P8P67, 2500K, Antec 300 illusion, and a Hyper 212 Plus. it all fits fine and runs great.
