Hi, I am in the market for an new scanner, one in the 1200x2400dpi resolution class to be more exact.
I`ve got 3 modells I could get, but since I haven`t really looked into scanners recently I wanted to get some opinions about how they compare to each other before I throw my $ (ATS in my case..) out of my window....
This scanner will be used at home, to scan text ~80% of the time and images ~20% of the time....the images should be high quality. I´m using Windows 2000, so the quality o the TWAIN driver for Win2k is very important, and I don´t care about other software that is included...
The 3 scanners are:
1.) Epson 1200U:
We have had the scanner at work for quite some time, and I really like it, but I have got no idea how it compares to the other 2 scanners....it`s "only" 36-bit (more than good enough for me), and it´s been avaible longer than the other 2 scanners AFAIK.
2.) Agfa SapScan e40:
I have got no experience with this scanner at all, it has got 1200x2400 resolution 42 bit color depth.
3.)CanoScan N1220U
1200x2400, 42 bit color depht and it´s damn small too...
TIA!
