New SLI system requires what for power?

I just dropped quite a lot of money buying a system with the following specs:
FX-55
Asus a8n (pre-ordered)
2 eVGA 6800 Ultras (pre-ordered)
16x DVD dual layer +/-
74 gb Raptor
120 gb West Dig.
Some misc parts that aren't power hungry enough to mention.

The psu that I bought with it is the Ante True Power 480W. I've been thinking long and hard about whether that is enough power. The gfx cards and cpu together shouldn't use more then around 330W and that leaves 150 for everything else.... but is that enough? Any opinions on whether I should go through the hassle of returning the 480W and getting the Antec 550W?

The cost doesn't bother me for the new psu, but I don't really want to go through all the process to do it if there is no need.

My antec 430w true power gave me a ton of 'power warnings' with my 6800 ultra, so idk. It was even modded with higher lines. Something was just screwed up with that install I think.

PCP&C are a manufacturer, of (probably) the worlds best power supplies, expensive but if you can afford that then you can afford one.

22A on the 12 rail? Thats not a whole lot for a 480watt PSU, but I think you'll be ok. If you do want to upgrade to somthing else check out Tagan's 480 watt, PCP&C, or a 400+ Enermax.

I'd think the Antec 550EPS (+12V@36A) or the OCZ 520 (+12V@33A) will do.

But who knows , most of the reviews of SLI systems don't list what power supply their using ...

Your best bet is wait for other ppl. to express their sucess/failures w/ power supplies & SLI.

Jose

Bigger picture: the A8N Deluxe SLI uses a 24-pin ATX cable, not 20-pin, and with that much riding on it, I wouldn't try to skate by without all the power-delivery lines I can get. How about this 600W Enermax maybe. It will work with 20-pin or 24-pin, has a PCIe Graphics power plug, and a fair amount of 12V amperage. cables pic

I would go with the Antec Neopower 480W it is modular and they use it in most Extreme PC Guides at sharky and jsut adding another vid card won't matter that much when they are using 1 Nvidia 6800 Ultra
