I really love those last few seconds...can't wait to see that on IMAX!

I do think the teaser gives us a hint of the promised *less reliance* on CGI. This fakeness is part of what contributed to the horrible EPs 1-3. And I agree with many that I too have become jaded and am very skeptical of this JJA hype machine for EPVII. Many of us want it to *save* a franchise...that fiscally does not need saving.

I think they were going for an ominous tone. Didn't show much but intriguing which is as it should be. They're called teasers for a reason.

That lightsabre looks like you could lose a finger if you're not careful. Considering the style of fighting most Jedi seems to use, that's a likely possibility.

That light 'blade' hilt looks like it could take off the hand at the wrist.

Well, I have a massive nerd erection right now. Even from that teaser, you can already tell the cinematography is leaps and bounds ahead of the prequels. It's being done almost in the exact same style as his Star Trek films, which is what I expected. It's very unlikely this will be a bad movie, if it doesnt live up to the Orignal Trilogy. Disney is probably very aware of negative fan reaction to last three films, and doesn't want a repeat of it.

Lucas just got lazy with the prequels. They would have been forgivable if they were made for TV or went straight to DVD, but they weren't up to snuff for a theatrical release of a critically acclaimed franchise.

but in truth, this trailer is definitely a pretty good tease; there's some very plausible hints that we might see something of Revan in these movies.

That's exactly how I feel. I actually just rewatched the 4-6 over the last few days (had a hankering) and still love the movies; but 1-3 just hurt so bad. They destroyed any faith I had and will need to be proven wrong before I get excited at all about future movies.

I can't even stand 1-3 anymore. They didn't happen?

Since there have been hundreds of books written after ROTJ and they all had to fit into the normal Star Wars cannon, do you think this will be new material? The Hand of Thrawn trilogy would have been awesome.

Besides Darth Revan and the Old Republic, which Disney has been extremely evasive about when asked directly recently, all the EU has been thrown out as canon. They've wiped the slate clean for the sequel.
