I was so damn excited by the Ep1 teaser and look how that turned out. With that said I'm optimistic until I leave the theater.
This.
I have been a Star Wars geek my whole life. I remember sitting and watching TV as a 6 year-old, seeing the commercial for Star Wars, and begging my dad to take me to see it. He did and I have been a huge fan ever since -- seeing all of the films multiple times (esp. Eps 4-6 in the 70s and 80s), having most of the Star Wars toys in the 70s and 80s, etc.
When Episode I rolled around, I was really excited and the hype was building. Yeah, I thought the whole "Darth Vader as a little kid" angle was dumb, but I remained patient until I saw the film. I took a lady friend with me and as the screen crawl began, I got REALLY excited. That was the height of the experience for me. She ended up actually falling asleep during the movie and I sat there absolutely horrified by what I saw.
When I got home that evening, I called my brother and told him I could not believe how absolutely terrible the movie was. Little did I know, the series would sink to new lows with Episode II.
So, this trailer looks cool, but I am reserving my judgment until I see the film. I thought JJ's Trek films were absolutely terrible and I suspect this will be the case with these as well, but I'll try to be optimistic.
