new sys doesnt reboot

i just put together my sys, and after installing the nvidia drivers, when i go to reboot, the comp is running, but my monitor shuts down. at this time , if i cold boot it, the comp will boot fine.
specs

asus a7m266 mobo
visiontek geforce 3
256 crucial pc2100 ddr ram
enermax 350w ps

nothing is Oc'ed, and it worked fine before the installation of the drivers. i tried both the drivers from the CD it came with, as well as the new ones off of nvidia's site.

Not sure what OS you have or which drivers you've installed. Are you sure the PC has actually hung. I had a problem with earlier Detonator driver on a TNT2 where the PC would display a black screen for about 2 minutes with no hard drive activity and then go into windows normally. A newer version of the drivers sorted the problem out.

h sorry, the OS is win98 SE. i just reinstalled the original drivers, then the newer released ones. 12.41 i believe....released 6/6.
i also updated the VIA 4 in 1 drivers for my motherboard.

Try removing all the graphics drivers from you system. You will probably find them under add/remove programs in the control panel. Your PC should then boot up using a Standard VGA driver in 640x480. Then just install the new drivers. If you don't have any luck with the 12.41 Detonators you could try getting an unofficial driver from

They recommend the 10.80 drivers

I don't think so, you said the PC was working fine before you installed the Nvidia drivers.
