I"m waiting for that to become available. I hope it isn't too long.

As with the Yate Loons, I was planning on getting a few 120mm for the case.

How's the O/Cing ability of this model? I do not plan on getting nVIDIA SLI so I would go with the one mentioned if its O/Cs well.

You will have to run 2t for sure. Although, I dont know how much fsb you can get out of 4 dimms. Pretty sh!tty ram overclock I imagine. You will still be able to OC the cpu high enough, probably with dropping dividers down more than you would like though. Just my thoughts. Somone else who has actually tried overclocking with 4 dimms might be able to tell you for sure.

If its that troublesome, perhaps I should consider getting another RAM type preferabley 2x1gig DIMMS?

The onboard memory controller doesnt really like either 4x512mb or 2x1gb. IMO you should get 2x512. The only game that really take advantage of 2gb is bf2. I have a gig of ram and I play modern games(not bf2) and I have yet to run out of ram. I think you would be better off anyway with a gig because you are trying to overclock.

system 2 will be much noisier. However, if you game, you will enjoy system 2 a huge amount more. You cannot compete with the bliss of 1600x1200 maxed out settings.

"much noisier" as in there isnt much you can do with the GPU fan noise as it needs to be cooled properly. You wll proably be in the 32db range as opposed to 24-27 db of system 1.

i would say that >98% of people using computers can tolerate this noise.

System #1 - for multitasking, office, video/audio work etc.

System #2 - for gaming.

I dont know what your priorities are. Also you say you'll overclock system 1, but wont overclock system 2?

I'd get system #1 with system #2's power supply, and possibly video card... I think I'd scratch the audigy2 zs soundcard (I think my mobo's sound card is sufficient..)

I don't suggest going for an SLI system. If you do go for #2, make sure you get a beefier power supply as I don't think this one is SLI-certified, and two 7800GTX are going to draw a LOT of power.

Good points. I'll switch back to the DFI LP Ultra-D mobo with the SeaSonic S12-430 PSU.

As with the no O/Cing, I plan to upgrade to 2gig of ram in the future and O/C would pose a problem with 4 dimms.
