New System Doesnt Work!!!!

I just built a new computer and it wont post!! It is a 2500+, epox-8rda+, 9700pro. I just get a black screen when i turn it on, and all the fans are spinning (on the video card and cpu). I tried 2 different monitors and 2 different video cards. So that means its probably something wrong with the motherboard, ram, or cpu. But on the motherboard it says FF (fully functional). If there was a problem with the ram, motherboard or cpu wouldnt it not say FF?? Any ideas? I aldready tried clearing the cmos, and i tried booting up with the fsb at 100. Everything looks like it is working fine, but there is no display! COuld it be a problem with the agp port. Please Help!!

If you`ve a PCI video card try that,you could try reseating the AGP video card a fews times in the AGP slot as well, to make sure it`s fully seated right.

i tried a 9700pro and a ti4200, and neither worked. what could be wrong?

You don`t say what PSU you have,I hope it`s a quality PSU?

Its a 300w tigerpro PSU. If their was a problem with the power supply could all the fans and the motherboard LED work but it still no post??

You could try booting with minimal hardware congfiguration(less strain on the PSU),also try booting with the motherboard out of the case,could be a slight shorting somewhere. A poor quality PSU could give the blank screen problem.

Maybe you connected the pins on the motherboard wrong.

what do you mean? the cpu pins? the jumpers?

check to see if you have any screws, standoffs, or washers shorting the mobo

should the standoffs be touching the mobo, cause they are? the mobo is screwed to the standoffs.

What he means is you might have a standoff in the wrong position (they should be aligned with those soldered round holes that are on the motherboard for the screws and standoffs) which might be touching one of the trace circuits on the board,that`s why I suggested try the board out of the case on a wooden or cardboard surface to see if it makes any difference,also double check all your leads etc make sure they are all connected correctly,doublecheck everything.

No, there are no standoffs or anything shorting the motherboard. If there was a problem with the motherboard, ram, or cpu, would it still say FF (fully functional) on the motherboard? I think it must be a problem with the motherboard because i was very careful when putting the cpu in. I cant try the cpu in another computer because i dont have another mobo that supports bartons. But i can try a 850mhz athlon cpu on the motherboard. Then if it works i will know it was a cpu problem. And i can try the ram in another computer as well tomorrow. Any other ideas for me to try tomorrow?

it is apacer pc2700 (infineon)

I have an idea! The motherboard goes straight to FF on the led, it doesnt cycle through the other codes like i believe it is supposed to. Does this mean that the mobo is faulty??

I did not have the 12v connector plugged into the motherboard. Was I supposed to, could that have been the problem? Im not at the fuxored computer right now so i cant test it.
