So I currently have a AMD 1900+ with 200GB ATA drives

I want to get a new comp and reutilize my current ATA drives, CD-+RW drive, Monitor and speaker system 5.1.

So bascially I want to get the following

CPU: 929 Ath 64
VID: prefer BFG 6800 OC, but dont know wether to go with SLI...
MOBO: Again with the SLI question. Could i just put 1 vid card for now for an SLI Setup?
RAM: Corsair xtreme will probably go with
SATA: I will get a good sata for my OS and use my old HDD for data drives.
Capture: Haugpauge 250pvr, has had best reviews that ive seen...

I already got a new case and HSF awaiting the rest of parts.

So I guess basically my question is what MOBO and vid card should I get?

I dont know wether to for the SLI or not. I want to use this rig for gaming and regular home use and it will be connected to my Dish Network receiver so I will put TV on it and occasionally
capture video.

thanks for your responses.

I think you mean socket 939, but that just looks like a typo.

I vote thumbs down on SLI, but that' just me. SLI doesn't actually work unless nVIDIA specifically writes in support for the game into their drivers; also, I think I read in Hard|OCP that games without SLI support that are run in an SLI-enabled rig actually have slightly lower framerates.

I'm liking the Gigabyte GA-K8NXP-9 right now, but the prices are obscene (as in more expensive than the humping SLI model; wtf is that!?).

The MSI Neo4 Platinum has gotten a lot of nice talk in here; DFI's NF4 board also looks quality from what I've read around these parts.

Yeah, +1 on the 6800.

Also, make sure your processor is the Winchester; I think it's supposed to run a little cooler.

i'd say no to sli for now. BUT you can go ahead and get a neo4 plat and just use one 6800. if you want drop the whole idea and stay AGP (nothing wrong with that) go with a neo2 plat.

It's the tag for highlighting certain text. So whenever you type in HardOCP with the brackets around the H, it's gonna highlight starting with "a" and continue for the rest of your post.
