New Taco Bell items today

Good ole Taco Hell, rarely making something new, just taking things they already have and wrapping them in a different way.

To be honest, that's most Mexican food.

You got your choice of meats: asada, pollo, carnitas etc etc

Fillers: Cheese, guac, salsa, rice, beans

Wrap style: Torta, burrito, tacos, tostadas, quesadillas, etc.

Birria - Goat

Basically meat, filler, wrap lol.

1am last night - on the way home from drinking with friends at a local dive - stopped by Taco Bell and got one of each.

In order of preference:
1)Nacho
2)Chicken
2 -Tie)Potato

Flavor & crunch of nacho wins out.
The volcano sauce combined with sour cream on the chicken was a bit much. Same for the potato, I guess I'll order next time without the sour cream.

They are hearty - much more substantial than the picture.

Since we're mentioning similarities in Mexican food, I'm slightly curious...am I the only one that noticed that two of these things at Taco Bell are not new at all?

One of them is a beefy crunch burrito (or something like that) and the other is the chipotle chicken flatbread (but with a tortilla, obviously). Only the potato one tastes 'new.' And while it's good, it's a bit strong.

Kind of like they took an entire appetizer order of potato skins and, like, boiled it down to concentrate. I think it mainly needed more cheese and less salt. Which I guess is to say less bacon, but fuck me if I'm gonna ask for less bacon on/in something.

Is it even real bacon? Most likely shitty bacon bits.

It was real bacon.

You can buy 'real bacon bits.' As in, little chunks of cooked, cut up bacon that come in a jar that must be refrigerated after opening.

I would bet money that the Taco Bell bacon is the same thing you'd get on something from Pizza Hut if you ordered bacon (American bacon, not 'eh' bacon). Just like the spicy orangish sauce on the chicken burrito is also 'buffalo dipping sauce' or some such at KFC.

All three places are owned by the same company, and they often share the same supplies when possible.
