new take on diet food

so i got to thinking, hrm
yeah i know
so ppl like food, alot of it
so what if were to, make hollow food and fill it with some sort of non caloric gel medium,
say u could have a 1/8th pound burger but upped to 1lb with gel medium, with exterior identical, now this medium would have to be taste neutral, and im sure someone could figure that one out

Sort of done already - a lot of meat is filled with saline solution. It cooks out, mostly, but adds to sale weight.

You can also stretch ground beef by adding lentils or veggie burger or something. Taco Bell already does this with soy in their Taco meat. That will drastically lower the caloric density of the food, even if it's not a "gel medium."

Like olestra, some chips are made with it and it's a non-digestible fat that you sh8t out.

The problem is that any non-caloric "medium" in a significant quantity would probably give you diarrhea. Food additives that lack calories are usually not very digestible.

This is already being done. Here, for instance, dough is replaced with wood in your muffins... and berries are fake.
