0-60 in 1.9s
0-100 in 4.2s
1/4th mile in 8.9s

It looks like they got their 0-30, 0-60, and 0-100 numbers confused...holy crap that is fast.

That's some spec on the roadster and it looks good too Sure they'll have some customers for that.

Semi appears to be more capable than expected but in the price ballpark. Sure it costs more up front but fleets are going to be busting out their TCO calculations on something that uses cheaper energy and will have, conceivably, a fraction the maintenance.

Goodbye traction?
With that much hp/torque, how are those numbers even possible without the tire just constantly slipping/fighting for traction. Are they using drag radials?

Insane. Love the good, conservative styling. All around great looking vehicle that will likely be a hoot to drive.

That is really really cool. But also really really expensive. C'est la vie. Maybe in 20 years if prices come down to reasonable level I'll be able to buy a car with specs like that.

Just watched it. Those numbers are scary!

What was impressive to me is that Franz drove into the stage. He looks like 6'2''+ and he fit in this just fine.

Bravo Tesla!!!

250K is expensive, but, I suspect it's less than the price they would need to be profitable.
This thing is significantly faster than every million dollar hypercar.

It would leave the Porsche 918, Ferrari LaFerrari, and the McLaren P1, all WAY behind in the dust.
I suspect this Telsa would even obliterate a Koenigsegg One:1

Given that all of the competition costs 4x as much, and is significantly slower, the price seems justified & realistic.

i assume the trunk, pillars, fenders, and doors are filled with batteries?

Looking at the size of that roadster, I was thinking the same thing.
Oh and Tesla debuted a couple of Semi tractors as well.
Now they just need to execute better on production.

Assuming 2,000kg mass, we are talking approximately 771KJ to get it from 0 to 60...discharged in under two seconds...

A 250K, 4400+ lb car that will be the quickest thing in a straight line until the next thing is the quickest thing in a straight line.
Neat

A range of 600 miles so that you can travel great distances carrying very little.

If Tesla's dismal reliability record greatly improves.

"To illustrate the massive range, Musk pointed out that Roadster drivers could manage a trip from LA to San Francisco, then back to LA — all without recharging."

That means 800mi. range (& if that trip was only there and back)!

These aren't grapes.
They're olives

I do get all snooty when it comes to porky cars. Acceleration stats are cool and all but I'm a twisties sorta guy.

Which super car do you own that does better?

Also with a enough tire, and expected ultra low center of gravity, I am sure it will do quite well in the handling department compared to other super cars.

It won't feel like a Miata, but neither does a Lamborghini.

It has 4 seats and trunk(s). Elon said one can stow crap in them and travel fairly comfy.

This is direct competitor and perhaps real killer for $1M Rimac car, of which I am a big fan.

i'm curious what the production car will actually do vs what he advertised. i think the one poster who mentioned the car may not turn well, is a valid point when comparing to other 200k+ super cars out there

P100D are insanely fast too from the factory, however of you use all the power you fly through the available charge and they do handle terribly due to weight. However, their traction control algorithm is very good and they make very good use of the power they have
