How does it require the removal of the motherboard when it uses the stock p4 retention bracket?

Another thing is that it requires removal of the motherboard from the chassis to mount it.

Finally got it on and lowered my temp about 4C compared to my Zalman CNPS7000A-AlCu..

I'm looking to upgrade to this HSF from the same Zalman on the same board. Can you take some pictures of the OTES and the capacitor that you bent?

Because the clips are attached to the heatsink itself.. There's no way you can get a screw driver in there from the top to get the clips to hook onto the P4 retention bracket. You have to do it at eye level, ie flat below the heatsink on a open table.

Sorry, I'm one of the few who still doesn't have a digital camera. Will have one soon.. The benting of that capacitor is not so bad. Actually you don't have to do it yourself. As you attach the heatsink, one of the heatpipes will brush up against it forcing it to bend a bit.. System works fine and still 100% stable..

I got mine last night too. I am using it on the p4c-800e deluxe. It required slightly bending a couple of capacitors. I havent ran tests, but just checked temps at the bios and they were about 6-8C lower than before ( i was using a Zalman 7000A).

This thing is huge and is not meant to fit my small super lanboy very well. The 86cfm panaflo I am using is pressed against the 120mm exhaust.

Well, I'm glad I jumped on the deal when it was in stock. Haven't got it yet, but...

Hmmm, I also ordered a Super LAN Boy from Directron, along with a TTGI 350W power supply with 140mm fan. I was hoping to use an Asus P4P800 Deluxe in that setup. Three 120mm fans and one 140mm fan. :Q Hope it all fits.

space is going to be an issue for you, but it's doable. There was no space between the heatsink and the 120mm exhaust on the super lanboy. I wasn't able to fit the clips on this side of the heatsink. I had to tie the panaflo down because of the lack of space. The other side was ok, with clips and everything.

Then again, i dont know if P4P800 has the proc socket in the exact same place as the p4c800-e dlx (which is what i have).

Let me know how it goes.

was too lazy to read the compatibility issue.

Most major boards supported ? ( as in do no require bending of capacitors )

and how about the range in CPUs supported?

i have a super lanboy, but then again i have an amd setup with the nf7-s

i looked at pictures of your asus board and the placement of the cpu is about the same on my abit board

the issue i have with this board and this case is my sp97's 92mm fan practically touches the psu.....

since this badboy is so much bigger and the fan is a lil bit bigger than the heatsink itself, you *may* have an issue with centering the fan, but thats jes what im conjecturing from pictures

EDIT: didnt realize someone said something similar already, too quick to post

I'm not going to have a problem with fit because if it doesn't fit in the Super LAN Boy, I'm gonna pop it in my Aspire aluminum tower (one of those "alien" looking deals). That case has tons of room.

heh, the 92mm fan on my SP-97 touches both the PSU and rear fan in my case. its actually a bit off centered so it doesn't get caught up in the rear fan. no XP-120 for me!

that isnt true...

you dont need a screwdriver...tilt the heatsink to get the first set of clips in the bracket, then just push the other two in...

i installed it on my ai7 with no screwdriver and no motherboard removal...

also...the xp-120 performed WORSE than my dp-102 did...

Fom their site,

120mm Recommended fan for maximum cooling capability

So, for those who get a mid-range northwood (2.8) or lower A64 (2800+), we could go fanless?

No way in hell. 120mm is recommended because it's also, as I've heard, an option to use a 92mm fan. Only fanless heatsink you want to be using is one with a vertical radiator so the exhaust fan will draw heat from it.

This requires the removal of OTES on the ic7-G for sure? How much will that hurt overclocking performance if you're going for 250fsb and does the sp-94 require you to remove otes?

I think I'm just going to get the sp94... that thing is just too huge and people aren't reporting substantial gains over the sp94 anyway. 1-2c just isn't worth it to have to remove otes and put that hoss in.

the two performe almost the same with a higher amounts of CFM,but if your after a very low CFM, ultra silent fan, the XP-120 will kick the SP-94/97 around.
