I wouldnt fret, its for intel chips anyways. THermalright usually takes a couple of months to come out with the AMD version.

according to thermalright's site, the dimensions of the cooler are subject to change. that's great news since those of us who prefer midi towers won't be able to use the XP120 in it's current form. see the amount sticking out above the top of the MB? no way in hell you can get that in there with a PSU directly above it.

$70 for a SP-97 is robbery. i paid $40 for mine.

reguardless of the nickle,i had to lap my heatsink, thermalright didn't do a very good job, which i was surprised.

the sp-94 just barely fit on my ic7 max3
some boards might have trouble with this big sucker
might even have to remove the otes cooling system to fit it on a max3

but i like it

WOW this is awesome! Finally a quality 120mm cooler. I've been waiting for this. Figures that I just bought a 978u, but hell, it can go on one of my AMD setups.

the sp-94 just barely fit on my ic7 max3

The first review shows it on an IC7, so hopefully us fellow Max3'ers should be set eh? I just became a member of the 1.0 ghz FSB club today @ 45 C idle, 55 max - maybe I can go even higher and cooler with this!

It DOES look like there is NO clearance to the rear case fans in the last picture. Since I have a 38mm thick 120mm rear case fan, I may have to replace it.

i have a major space problem in my case with my 38deep 120mm fan too. DFI puts their sockets very close to the edge,so my SP-97 is too close to the rear fan. i actually had to off-set the 92mm fan on it so it would fit on.

it worked out better, most don't think about it,but off-setting the fan on thermalright heatsinks(92mm fans only) gets rid of the dead spot in the center of the fan. i actually got a 1C temp decrease

according to thermalrights website, its for both AMD and intel (how it fits in AMD mobo, i dunno, im just saying what the site says). the heatsinkfactory is taking reservations too. My only question is, how and why do you lap a heatsink? I thought it was just for like scratchs and stuff.

I have a P4C800 Deluxe, and I'm planning on purchasing the Thermaltake Tsunami case. Anyone think this heatsink will fit? Also, what would be a good 120mm fan(one thats not too loud, but cools efficiently) to put on it?

EDIT--

I just got this info from another forum. It's regarding P4 Asus motherboards:

ASUS 875P P4C800 passed caps mechanically obstruct pipe slightly, cap
tilting necessary

P4C800 Deluxe passed caps mechanically obstruct pipe slightly, cap
tilting necessary

P4C800-E Deluxe passed caps mechanically obstruct pipe slightly, cap
tilting necessary

865PE P4P800 passed

P4P800 Deluxe passed

P4P800-E Deluxe passed

P4P800 SE passed

I don't know if I would be comfortable tilting some caps. I really want quiet, effecient cooling, so I still may purchase it and see how much "tilting" I'll have to do.

wow, thats one hell of a heatsink.

I'm still gonna go with the Coolermaster Hyper 6 for my new computer I am building next week. And if the proprietary mounting system I've cooked up in my head actually works out, Ill even be able to move my case around with it still attached, albeit carefully (I'm not taking risks with the $400 graphics card that will be directly below it )

im willing to bet that a 120mm fan will do a better job of cooling the mosfets then that stupid 40mm fan any ways

im looking forward to getting one of these myself

And another lamb bows at the Thermalright alter.

Just joking... they do look like killer heatsinks. That nickel plating on the base would have to go.

Just received mine.. Boy is this thing huge.. I have a IC7 Max3 and you definitely have to remove the OTES. The only way this thing will fit is for the heatpipes to face up requiring the removal of the OTES. Also there is one capacitor that needs to be bent/forced bent by one of the heatpipes. Another thing is that it requires removal of the motherboard from the chassis to mount it.

Finally got it on and lowered my temp about 4C compared to my Zalman CNPS7000A-AlCu..
