New Title: Do 'posse rappers' have real talent or do they just get a break from their friends?

Furthermore: The rap game is about making that $$$$ therefore If a not so good song will make money it will be relased. where as a song that reflects the rappers talent but may not be a "pop" hit , it tends to only get heard by avid hip hop fans and the underground.....it is somewhat obvious from your comments that you are completely out of touch with the current hip hop underground scene. So I'll refer to my previous and ask you to educate yourself b4 a next post like this

The same thing happens on rock format stations.

They're too busy playing AC/DC and Aerosmith from 15 years ago, or the latest Godsmack crap, to play stuff like Symphony X, Dream Theater, or Ayreon.

It happens on alternative format radio stations. It happens on country radio stations. It happens on radio, period.

The trick is to say "f*ck the radio," and find the good stuff yourself.

Not really.......it appears you looking in the wrong place........you are complaining that oochie wally is clogging airtime on MTV so talented artists cannot be featured. MTV should not be your guide to underground hip hop. MTV plays what will get viewwers and that tends to be mainstream crapola. Underground hiphop is plenty available if you want to look other places for it than TRL or the billboard 200 charts.


Example 50 cent has been in the media spotlight constantly lately. However He's been putting out albums and tracks on the underground for years. He finally got a deal that didnt dick him over and then bam instantly he is famous there was no waiting in line . He earned his respect and somebody(eminem) recognized him for it and helped him get the recognition he deserves. He had the choice to remain underground but he openly admits he is in it for the money.

What about when the rappers posse is better than than the rapper that blew up?

Main example: Lloyd Banks is so far superior to 50 Cent that you can't even compare them. 50 rhymes using cat/hat lyrics while Banks is spittin some of the illest lyrics/metaphors I have heard in years. Banks just dosn't have the look that 50 has. Oh well, TRL lamers wouldn't appreciate Banks anyways.

It is easier to get one person a deal than it is to get a group a deal which is why once one guy get's one he tries to bring in his "posse" but all of these guys rapped with each other before one of them made it big. It's how you get better rapping in a group of guys/girls and having them tell you how it sounds and what may sound better.

apparently i'm not being very clear in what i am trying to communicate today........

MTV, radio stations whatever mass media device is you preference, listening to something any mass media company tells you to listen to is a foolish way to determine if music is good or not. I was not talking about your freind telling you to listen to this cd or that song.

Furthrer more my statement about nullifying your opinion was based on the fact you admittedly only listened to what the mainstream has been forced to listen to which is the get rich or die trying album and I asked you to discus some songs other than this extremely mainstream album as a means of demonstrating your previous knowledge of 50 cent however you provided no evidence of any knownledge of him besides his mainstream album therefore you opinion is about as valuable as MTV therefore nullifying it.
