'03? Damn it looks like its easily 09/10. Very clean. What kind of exhaust? I'm a sucker for a Japanese screamer with a throaty exhaust. Music to my ears.

Thanks for all of the compliments!

Stock exhaust. I'll add the rest of the pictures from the CL listing.

I'd love to get something aftermarket, but taking care of the suspension if the first priority. After that my plan is to flush all of the fluids, and since I'm dealing with coolant I'll probably go ahead and replace the radiator.

That's all the bike you'll ever need. I wasted so much money getting bigger and faster bikes over the years. $1500 exhaust systems, dyno tuning, power commanders, etc.. So much down the tubes. Hell I should of just got a good bike like yours and rode it till the wheels fell off. I think one year I spent probably 15k on bikes, parts, gear..

Right now it definately feels like all the bike I need. I could see myself buying a naked bike to park alongside it (I'm actually fond of the ER-6n). No room in the garage right now though - keeping the 250R for the time being, girlfriend says she wants to buy it when she gets out of nursing school in a few months.

Here's the rest of the pics from the CL listing. I saw them the day they went up and called the guy immediately. Took him all of 24 hours to sell the bike to me.

The ER-6N is actually down a little on power to the SV650 so I would see zero reason to do this actually. I went from an SV650 N model to a Ducati Monster 1100 EVO. I would have loved to keep the SV but in all honesty I wouldn't have ridden the SV enough to justify keeping it.

When I sold my SV I had at least 7-8 people interested in it right away and it sold to the first person who showed up to look at it.

Got the ZX14 shock in and did the fork spring / oil swap over the weekend.

Still sorting out the sag, but it's already huge improvement. Glad I spent money on the suspension first.

For all the people eager to get back on a bike, my dad is selling his Kawasaki ZX-10R.

PM me if interested. Great price.

Get a slipon can for that and lose that giant hunk of muffler hanging off the right side of the bike. I had a stainless M4 on mine and it sounded really good. Yoshimura also makes a great pipe for the SV. You can drop like 10lbs of weight with this mod.

In before the "frame sliders are for people who can't ride" crowd.

BTW-Love the bike! I miss mine sometimes.

Get some Pilot Powers, stock suspension never felt "that" bad on my bike but I did upgrade to Race Tech springs and their gold valve cartridge emulators. I also had a ZX-14 shock on mine. It's funny, because I used to read that the Ninja 250 crowd liked to "upgrade" to the SV rear shock. I just threw mine in the trash.

Minor tipover is nothing. That bike will go forever and is barely broken in.

And good call on the frame sliders. One of the first mods I did to my Duc.

There is such a crowd? I still think race rails is the way to go.

If you get Motosliders (http://www.motosliders.com/), they *will* keep the radiator off the ground if you tip the bike over. Motosliders are *very* well known to the SV crowd- they are the best out there. Motosliders have saved both of my SVs a couple of times between routine tip-overs, and some serious track crashes.

Congrats on the bike- the SV650 is one of the most fun motorcycles out there!

So, I meant to mention... fork oil change offered another theory of why the bike handled so poorly. Fork oil levels were significantly different. By volume, there was roughly 50mL less in the right fork compared to the left.

Oil from the right side fork was also a deep red (like ATF), while the oil from the left side fork was brown. First instinct was to check for leaks (found none), but I'd expect the discolored oil to come from the side with a lower oil level if the system has become open to the environment.

I have read that Suzuki is pretty random when it comes to factory fill for fork oil, so I'm just chalking it up to that. In any event, both sides have fresh oil with the level set equally.
