Hey, I am new to this and I want to join Team Anandtech. I guess that I have started cracking, I am getting around 7.7 MKeys/s I think that is right, either way, it is around 7. I was wondering what I have to do to join a certain team, it never really asked me. Is there a way to save stats either?

Thanks,
Paul Hilgeman

Damn, that's some nice production! To join Team AnandTech, just go here and click the link that says "I want to join this team". Have your dnet ID and password handy.

Welcome aboard!

Hey DiamondFire13, welcome to the TeAm

To join Team Anandtech you can use this link here join the TeAm, just make sure you've got your password first... you get your password by going to the stats page at DNet and search for your stats in the field at the top using the email address you crack under... at the bottom of your stats page there's a link that says send me my password, use that since DNet's automatic password sendout doesn't work If you don't find your stats search in the OGR-24 stats and the OGR-25 stats too you have to wait for a stats run after you've started cracking before DNet has any stats for you.... if you don't find anything at the three links I've given you wait until tomorrow and search again. Then when you've gotten your password use the first link I gave you or use it from the Team Anandtech summary at the bottom

Good luck, and good to have you with us!

With love and respect your fellow TA member

Hi DiamondFire13, welcome to the Team!

7.7Mkeys/sec is extremely fast, what kind of computer is that on? My guess is a Mac G4 because they are about the only system that can go that fast.

To join a certain team, you go to your stats page and click the "Please email me my password" button. Then you get your password and you can visit a team's page and click the "I want to join this team!" button, and take it from there.

To get to your personal stats page, click here and put the email address you gave the client into the search box under "Participant Stats." To get to Team Anandtech's page, click here.

Note that it takes Distributed.net a day or two to get your page up after you flush your first RC5 block or OGR node, so if your search for your email comes up with nothing, keep on working and flushing. To flush, you can right-click on the cow icon and select "Flush." You can't get your password until they have your stats page up, so just keep at it while you wait.

Once you have yourself joined up, you can find your own stats at your page, and also your overall standing for the daily output of Team Anandtech and also the overall standings for the Team.

Look in the client's Configuration menu for options to log your stats. If the client is in a window, right-click and choose "Configure," then option 4. If the client is a cow icon on the Taskbar, double-click on it first to bring it up in a window. Or wait... do Macs have a Taskbar.. hehe, well, if you have trouble, we're here to iron it all out. Thanks for joining and make yourself at home, this is the friendliest corner of the Forums.

edit: that has to be some kind of record, I started my reply when your post had no replies!

Thanks guys, I think I will be able to figure all of this out.

I have some more good news, Last night I shut down almost every single processe on my computer, and I got a whopping 8.45 Mnodes/sec. It is a duron 1000 running win2k server, the ram is at 100 cas 3. So my processing power is great, my RAM just sucks.

I will be onboard within the next day or so.

THanks alot guys,

Paul,Welcome to the team!
If you are getting "8.45 Mnodes/sec." then you are doing OGR. We can use your help in OGR as well as RC5. Do you have any preferences?
Anand has an article that describes the different distributed contests.

The Dnet client has shown that it isn't too sensitive to the speed of your RAM, so you're not losing any appreciable output due to not having CAS2 or PC133 or both.
