Thing is, CA already made an Alexander minipack...I guess you get to create a Hellenistic empire that doesn't fall apart. Still, war elephants in this engine are beautiful, so if its sword and shield, I am happy.

The clock started at 2010 and is now at 1908. Thing is though, is it counting down from B.C. or A.D.? But yea, countdown should coincide with E3, June 15th.

Sparta: Total War sounds great. I'd be happy with that.

Either that, or the Punic Wars (Rome/Carthage) and the time period around that.

Or maybe the Rise of Rome and start from say 500bc and focus on the conquest of Italy.

Although I think it could be something to do with Greece/Macedonia as they haven't really covered that period in detail and people are quite familiar with it.

Maybe they've already done this but they need to do some kind of medieval total war. Storming a castle would be awesome, complete with trebuchet's, catapults, diggers (to collapse the castle walls), etc.

Anyway, the clock has now counted down to 1824. The dates so far according to the forums have been:

2007 > 1959 > 1908 > 1870 > 1824

could just be random dates, but people are trying to come up with all sorts of patterns...some people think it might be China total war, especially with this tweet by CA.

Seems a bit of a waste, seeing as they spent the last couple of years developing a gunpowder focused engine. Not that I'm complaining, Empire is horrid.

in fairness, Empire was a very cool game, it's just the AI and bugs were game breakers. But I understand that the Multiplayer component for the Grand Campaign was very enjoyable for a lot of people.

I'm not sure why the AI is so hard to code considering Civ 4 had great AI. Rumor has it that American Engineers are superior to all other engineers atm...

The entire eastern asian continent would make a very interesting strategy game. From india, to persia, through china/mongolia, and up to korea. So many factions to rise and fall.

I still play Medieval Total War II Gold Edition and Rome Total War Total Edition sometimes. Which I picked up both for $10 shipped. Never did pick up Nap or Empire. Maybe Ill have to do so.

This new one sounds intriguing.
