I laughed when I saw I beat him by such a narrow margin....then laughed harder when he uploaded the new score at 5.2ghz. I might need 1.21 jigawatts to get this thing stable at 5.2ghz+ Anybody got access to LN2?

I could probably get the tRFC down to circa 538 which would boost the score a bit, and possibly 4.9 on uncore, but this will only be bench stable.

1T is a no go at this speed which is a shame, despite 1.45 VDIMM.

I reckon 1.46 should get you 5.2

That is a crazy latency. Last time I had a latency like that was like 10 years ago with 1GB sticks on 975X. (DDR2-800/CL3)

Ugh. I was so jealous of those BH5 sticks doing 2-2-2 @250 MHz. Even 2-3-2. I had a bit better luck with TCCD's but they would not go below CL2.5 no matter what.

Yeah I had the TCCDs. OCZ Platinums, good for higher frequencies towards 300mhz with tight timings.

Twin Xeon X5660s on an EVGA SR-2. I think it can do more, but breaking 4 GHz feels pretty good for now.

OMG, I never had them that high. Maybe I should have kept them, crap.

Well good job crashtech !!

Edit: my 2683's @ 2.5 ghz (not overclockable) do 18.2 on that benchmark with 28 threads. So I let go the fastest machine I had (not knowing)

I'd be willing to bet that you'd hate the power draw of this thing right now, though. I can keep the window open several inches at 35°F outside and it's still very warm in the den. Also I know you'd never tolerate the hottest core hitting 89°C like I will, lol. I'm going to be turning voltage and probably bus speed down until a more reasonable figure is reached.

That's still a very nice result, which motherboard did you use to achieve this result?
ASRock Z170 Pro4S. I think it was just my lucky day, this is a temporary setup, I bought the board because it was the cheapest Z170 at the time, an open box unit. I do like ASRock these days though, they seem to be delivering a lot of "bang for the buck" lately.

I very much enjoyed the ASRock Z68 Pro3 paired with my 2500K back in the days. They have a good price-to-performance ratio and I'll always consider their boards when buying a new system.

you can press winkey + print screen and it will save a screen capture on your images/screenshots folder, to upload just enter a site like tinypic, imgur or something else and upload the file you should get a link you can copy and paste here.
