I'm uncertain what the beta BIOS did but the score went up. Still it only runs at 3.3ghz.

I don't think Skylake is fully optimized yet.

The clockspeed is just to low to produce anything spectacular. At least you are beating a 4670 now.

Yeah oh well. I know that when I built it. It's in a very small case and I decided to save some money and make it low power. It does well for a 65 watt CPU.

I decided to downclock my 4690k to 3.3ghz (voltage auto) so we can directly compare

(7.8 score was at 4.6ghz)

If anyone's curious my cpu-z bench scores were 25% lower

So a 9.5% improvement clock-for-clock. That's in range of expectations, I think.

Here is a 65 watt Haswell i5. It only turbos to 3.0 ghz. I wonder if the 4570S (also 65w) turbos any faster with Cinebench?

I got this to upgrade a G3258 for $140 on ebay.

@justin4pack, looks like a bit of magic going on there, perhaps like as seen in Eurogamer's i5-6500 review. Excellent showing for a $189 CPU!

Thanks to all who are participating, I'm having fun seeing how all these systems measure up, I hope you are too.

Here's my official submission for the thread on my laptop.

Lenovo locks the 4 core turbo @2.6GHz with the 960m active for some reason.

I had to hunt down the latest version of ThrottleStop to get some respectable speed out of the chip.

3.2GHz is as far as she'll go without doing the TDP throttle down.

Ram DDR3 @ 1600MHz 11, 11,11, 28, 1T

Just for giggles.

Trying to duplicate this score I'm unsure what the speed of this run was/is. It was a TDP throttled down run is all I remember. Possibly started at 3.4GHz?

Funny score I thought is the only reason I'm posting this.

Congrats with the good OC on your new BIOS

Thanks. I ran prime95 overnight to make sure the overclock was stable. I am pretty impressed and to think it just cost me 140bucks for this processor which made me go for it in the first place over the 4690k that I was eyeing for a long time.

I've been playing around with my new HTPC; Asrock B85M ITX, G3258 and a stock cooler running Windows 10.

47 will BSOD. I don't think I'll try more Vcore.

People with Haswell & Skylake systems should try running Cinebench 11.5 with different memory speeds, to see what difference memory faster than the officially supported memory speed makes.

Yeah, the 6700 was $315, a much better value than the "K." But it bothers me a little that enabling BCLK OC still breaks temp reporting, though. It also seems to bork LinX 0.6.5 and the old Intel burn test as well. I thought a newer BIOS revision would fix it but no joy, as soon as you move away from 100 BCLK, some things just don't work anymore.

That's why you have to buy Kaby Lake with improved BLCK OC(tm)

Hopefully most if not all can be fixed via BIOSes. Some companies like Gigabyte and Asus is awfully behind currently. not even Speedshift is on with those mobos.

Hopefully this issue will be resolved before Kaby Lake! I have an ASRock Z170 Extreme4. Interestingly, the latest BIOS revision, 2.70, which I installed last weekend, is no longer available for download. I wonder why?

Could you try run HWinfo64? And see if SST is supported. Red=CPU supported but BIOS disabled. Green=all good.

Going from 2133 to 2933 netted me about .05 point on an i7-6700, this might not be the best benchmark to test memory bandwidth.
