Some data that likely doesn't need to fall on the OP, but I did some alternate thread/speed testing.

2T @ 4200Mhz = 2.16
4T @ 4200Mhz = 3.92
6T @ 4200Mhz = 5.71
8T @ 4200Mhz = 7.08
16T @ 4200Mhz = 6.97
24T @ 4200Mhz = 6.97
64T @ 4200Mhz = 6.97

4T @ 1400Mhz = 2.29
8T @ 1400Mhz = 2.29
16T @ 1400Mhz = 2.25

4T or 8T @ 1400Mhz gets the same exact result, despite half of the threads. I had the CPU/ram widget on the side running and saw the definite 50%/100% utilization. If anyone else would like to reevaluate that'd be helpful.

Not 100% done tuning this thing yet. Getting it stable at higher bclk speeds is damn peculiar. May not be possible. It's a shame, really, 'cuz this thing will do DDR3-2640 CAS11. The iGPU would like that, I think.

crashtech, I'm throwing in the towel @ 4.7 ghz. I got a 4.52 @ 4.79 ghz, but the system was not stable enough to complete the OpenGL benchmark, so what good is that?

Maybe someday I'll figure out how to use the power phase control settings to improve my clocks. Or maybe I'll just let the purple smoke out of my VRMs. Hah.

Post 157 is a dual core Pentium @ 4.8GHz. Not scientific at all, but looks to be exactly 2x your clockspeed, scores a 4.0 in this test. If we halved the clocked speed to match your 2.4GHz, I think it is reasonable to expect it to score somewhere around ~2 in this bench. Given Haswell IPC, I'm surprised to see your Turion gives roughly ~70% as much performance per core at the same clock. Again, hardly scientific and there could be other variables, but it seems closer to me than it I would have thought.

Not even bothering with it much these days, I think the 6 year + old computer with the X58/X5680 hits 11.20 or so stable @ 4.49 not even pushing it hard.

It works fine, so I'm just happy atm.

I'll be living with it awhile, need to stick the X5650 in the other yet, probably didn't need to buy a X5680, but the price just made it tempting at the time.

Have a L5639 still laying here too and nothing to put it in , oughta sell that and the 920 before they get too dated

Trust me, I feel your pain. My Llano laptop is getting long in the tooth. Still 'ok', but a 1.7GHz Llano definitely feels a bit sluggish, even with an SSD. But I wasn't saying so much that that CPU is decent or even 'ok' as much I am just surprised that the (estimated) gap isn't larger at the same clockspeed between the A64 and Hawell.

as for A64, my own score posted here is 1.10 at 2.42GHz, so A64 to "Athlon II" is a very impressive jump for this benchmark, or maybe my score was to low, I'll have to check it again.

Hi!

Cinebench R11.5 (and 15 ) at 4.5 ghz

in the pics u can also see max temps... yes, my aio isnt for oc and temps are too hi

now the cpu is on my Alienware aurora R4 ALX and this pc isnt meant for oc, its small aio liquid cooling cant handle the heat at all.



Now i have too high temps at 4500mhz, but in custom pc build on custom liquid cooling last year this cpu was at 5ghz ht on
