I may have to get my act together and fix this thread. Honestly I have just lost my motivation (for now).

Nice YBS1, wish I had some of your cooling on this laptop.

@Crashtech, my i7-4700MQ update for when you are feeling bored.

Thanks guys. Funny you should mention a laptop, as I happen to have a brand spanking new Dell sitting right here my mother purchased and tasked me with transferring her old files/settings. I don't really keep up with the mobile side of things I just noticed it was a "Core i7" so I assumed that would mean it was pretty quick.

WATCHING PAINT DRY is the only thing that comes to mind. "Little boxes!! Y U go so slow!?!?"
I'm stunned there is so much performance variance in models Intel would chose to label mobile "i7"

Other than Y and U dual cores there's also M.

Haswell dual core i7-4600M for comparison. Still slow though.

21. thebigbolgna | i7-4770K | 4.2 | 8.62
22. popobearr | i7-4770K | 3.7GHz | 8.59

1. crashtech | i3-4370 | 3.79GHz | 4.17

3. crashtech | i3-4360 | 3.7GHz | 4.00

9. crashtech | i3-4130T | 2.9GHz | 3.18

I never paid attention to thoses scores, but assuming the i3 scores are accurate then the conclusion is that adding two cores can increase FP IPC of all cores by 5-10%, if we are to interpret the 4770K scores that we see here and there....

Or not given the two scores above but generaly it s more than 8 at stock speed...

So it s quite possible that at stock the 4770K is running actualy at more than the official 3.5GHz, how to explain thoses scores otherwise..??.

i7-4770K turbo's to 3.9Ghz & most boards will lock in 3.8Ghz, so most likely the submitted scores are at 3.8..

Yes, up to 3.8Ghz..
Look at the Xeon E5640 score I posted above. CPUZ shows 4.6Ghz (max turbo 22X). Under load (running Cinebench), was actually 4.4Ghz (21X locked), while Cinebench was reporting 4.2 Ghz (default multiplier 20X)..

I understand.

I was just thinking about if we could write a python interface to to scrape the scores and format.
Honestly I was considering opening a new thread and reserve the first few posts in order to accommodate the bare bones text format that I started with, but if you have the skill to figure out something easier and more efficient, PM me. I do want to eventually get this thread back on track because I think it is a decent local resource that is also open to peer review.

Dang! That is impressive, YBS1. Maybe I'll stop looking for a cheap SR2 now....

No, I won't. A pair of well-clocked 5675s might just squeak by that octal-cored beast.

I don't. My lab partner did the Python simulations and assignments in my Physics course. I was too dumb at the time. I was planning to do some analysis of my OBD2 data on my car but...it's unlikely I'll bother to do this thing.
