I just ordered up two, total ground shipping to N. CA was $8.11. Two for $78.11 delivered. SWEET!

Shentech is in New York and ground shipping to California for two cards was a mere $8.11. Where are you?

The shipping charge is listed before you finalize (submit) your order. If I recall correctly, you are first asked for your name and shipping address, then the shipping charges are listed on the same step of the checkout process where you are asked for payment information (CC#).

Ok, is 41.89 to Arizona. I had to logout of my Yahoo account to see the shipping cost. If you are already logged into your Yahoo account, won't show the shipping charges.. weird.

Yikes, I got my order submitted in the nick of time. I hope they don't try to charge me the higher price. Bastids!

The price is still $31.00 on the 64MB retail version, which is a good deal. Not a hot deal, but good.

I ordered this card and the PCI version within the past several weeks for myself and friends at work. I have the PCI version running in a Dell 2400. Handles UT2004 demo with no problems.

Overall, Shentech did an ok job. I did have one problem when they sent me an PCI version instead of the AGP version I ordered. After sending them an email they sent me the AGP version and a return shipping sticker. Turned out that someone with almost the same order number ordered the PCI and it got swapped with my order during the packing and shipping phase.

Here's a little history lesson on Visiontek:

Visiontek started out making nVidia based video cards. Their business started failing and as tcsenter mentioned, they were bought out. The new owners switched to making ATI based cards. The cards referred to in this deal were the new company's first offerings. Some of the people involved in the old Visiontek went on to start their own compny called BFG Technologies (Asylum) and continued making nVidia based cards. This is just a guess but Shentech must have bought out a bunch of old stock from the new Visiontek or a distributor. Everything I've read about the ATI 9100 says that it's a re-marked 8500/LE with a little lower clock speed.

Man, you guys kill me. I just ordered the 64MB and the 128MB!

By the way, i also ordered the Visiontek Radeon 9100 128MB PCI model.

It's $59!! It's the fastest PCI video card available today. Nice.

thanks again guys!

How is this compared to a GF2mx (what I have now) and the ATI9600 (the one that can be modded to be like a 9800?), and a GFTi4200? I have been out of the video card loop for a while.

hmmm...

Taken from the Review of the 9100 pro
Conclusion
We guess you are troubled by one single question: why RADEON 8500 again when there has already been so much talk about it already. Well, it does make sense. First of all, out benchmarking proved that RADEON 9100 64MB is identical to RADEON 8500LE with the same amount of memory. Second, we saw that there is no reason to buy a 9100 card with 128MB memory: this extra memory will not pay back as efficiently as in case of RADEON 8500!

so the cheaper 64meg card is identical to the 8500LE... i might jump for the 9100

"Due to the extreme popular demand on this card, we have to raise the price a bit for it. Sorry about that."

They just lost a couple sales because of it.
