With gas prices going up, something like this would be perfect for city commuting IMHO.
For a long road trip, a bigger car might seem better, but to be honest in the city you really don't need a lot of horsepower.

That and those figures are probably not in US gallons. I'm using the smart four two as my reasoning. I have no idea what they really would be, but I'm sure they wouldn't be 94mpg, 60-70 max.

It is 94 mpg, but that's for diesel fuel. Diesel engines can be more fuel efficient than regular gas ones, and are a lot more common over in Europe.
