well... i ended up getting it at tourneau.
i had two options pony up the cash up front and recieve a three hundred dollar discount from mrsp...
or have 12 months intrest free fianance and pay mrsp.
i chose mrsp which is $2495.
then they added a 129 watch protection plan which they will cover my watch for three years and refurbish band/casing if it gets scratched if not they will replace band/casing also covers scratches to face... very nice plan for 130 bucks more...
then tax...
grand total $2755.33

Yes I would also like to know... 2.8 grand for a watch seems rediculous. :QOriginally posted by: JEDI
um.. what makes a watch worth $2.8k?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Clearly it is worth that much. Why? It tells time a fraction of a second more accurately than the cell phone he always has on him.Originally posted by: JEDI

That's a nice watch. What is the movement in it? It's nominally something called a "TAG Calibre 16," but they definitely don't make their own movements, suggesting it is some kind of Lemania or ETA/Valjoux.
Honestly I think if I were looking to spend the kind of cash you spent on your Heuer on a chronograph I'd have gone for an Omega Speedmaster, which looks similar, has the distinction of being worn on the moon, and has a somewhat more prestigious badge IMO. Heck, for that money you could have had a Broad Arrow, which is pure sex IMO. Among the Heuer chronos, I think the blue Monaco is the standout, though obviously everyone likes something different. Your watch is very nice as well.
I own one automatic chronograph, a Hamilton Khaki Field with a Valjoux 7750. I really just wanted an auto chrono in my collection. My other watches include a Sinn 656, an Ollech & Wajs MP2801, several Seiko divers (an awesome 6309-7040, two Yao-customized SKX007s, an SKX779, an SKX781, and an SBDA001), a vintage Seiko Seikomatic Self Dater, a weird TV-faced Seiko 5, a Christopher Ward Malvern, a Zeno Explorer, a junky Orsa diver (essentially a military Submariner knockoff), a fully-decked out Casio G-Shock WaveCeptor), and probably one or two other things I'm not thinking of.
