Uh, rogues had their stuns affected by diminishing returns last patch I think, been a while now anyway, that second kidney shot only hits for 3 seconds.

Ravage and Shred now properly increase the attack power contribution by the percent modifier.

Ambush, Backstab, Ghostly Strike, and Riposte now properly increase the
attack power contribution by the percent modifier.

Those seem like pretty substantial changes if they don't also modify the % difference. I mean Ambush does +250% damage, and the AP bonus is often a pretyy substantial amount of damage. A cold blood ambush with lots of AP may do crazy damage.

As for the warrior comments... yeah, warrior is lean, but warrior got major updates last patch that really changed the class substantially (much better solo-ability with the rage changes, sunder causes less threat)

Sucks to have a warlock though (and I do)

This is not a change but a bugfix. Dagger rogues were getting shafted(esp after the seal fate fix) compared to SS one.

Im interested in seeing how the area thing plays out..dropping a chest in the middle and having a royal rumble to open it sounds like fun!

Entering the arena pvp enables you. Not just faction v faction either. Anyone not in your group is a legitimate target.

Did anyone else notice that the new pvp armor they showed only has a lvl 7 rank requirement compared to lvl 10 in the old pictures? It looks like they listened to the players when they said they didn't like the high rank reqs.

OTOH those awesome weapons require rank 14

I think it's a 'bugfix' only because they wanted to make a change to partially make up for the SF bugfix where the game had become balanced around a bug that had been around for so long. I don't think the original intention was to make these % based skills work on AP. I believe the original intention was to have AP simply add on to base damage and % based modification. After all, % based skills do not apply to AP in any other case (weapon specialization for various classes for example).

If they don't also change the %, I'm afraid that ambush will become way overpowered in PvP vs. casters.

Variations of the Ambush - vanish - Ambush will become VERY popular among gankers.

Makes me glad I cancelled my account. Got so tired of my lvl 60 warlock getting the shaft with every patch.

The 'elemental' invasion would be much cooler if elementals actually dropped loot that was worth a damn.

Ever entered in a raid? I've always wondered if your raid-mates would be enemies too or what. I assume they would, but never tested it.

If this patch is correct, then we will find out quick what happens in raids. My bet is it doesn't work right, and people will bitch and moan about it in the forums.

Actually even if it works right, I bet people will bitch and moan about it in the forums =)

I need to create an alt on some of the big PvP servers just to watch som of the large and organized PvP guilds. (assuming the stuff in the chest is actually worth anything)

Hi everyone, I just wanted to post an FYI regarding the test server. Here are a few of the top issues we'll be looking into while patch 1.4 is in testing.

1. Hunter pets dealing significantly less damage than before. This isn't intentional and we're looking into why it's happening.

2. +Defense items. These items are on our watch list as they may be proving to be too strong now that some related bugs have been fixed in patch 1.4.

3. Ambush/Backstab damage. These abilities may be too strong now that we've fixed the bug that prevented an ability's damage bonus to affect attack power.

4. Diminishing returns for the mage's frost spells. We're still evaluating these changes in general. Where possible, we want to reduce the ability for players to feel continuously immobilized or slowed. However, that will need to be balanced against the continued viability of certain builds/tactics such as the frost mage.


Other notes...

As some players have noted, some characters already have honor points and ranks upon being copied to the test server. This is due to the fact that the honor system back-end has been undergoing testing on certain realms. Please note that when the honor system goes live, all character's honor values will be reset, so be aware that there is no need to get a "jump start" on the system. =]

We're still looking into reports that sunder armor generates less threat than it did prior to patch 1.3. No intentional change was made, and it is possible that warriors are finding it more difficult to hold agro only due to the fact that melee characters are now dealing more damage when attacking from behind their targets than before (due to the conversion of "block/parry" events from behind into hits rather than misses).

I'd like to remind everyone that the issues above are exactly why we put patches on a test server before they go live. Your input into the changes is very important. However, finding issues such as the above should not imply that we are attempting to "systematically dismantle" certain classes. It so happens that we like all of the character classes in World of Warcraft very much and take great pride in the work that went into each one of them.

i believe that in a raid everyone who is not in your immediate 5-man party is red to you.

I've heard that the battles in the arena on the test realm have been pretty spectacular to watch. Also, the new 60 mounts look way better than before.

Haven't had much time to play on the test realm, but I plan to tomorrow morning.

These patch notes are freaking awesome. I'm kind of annoyed by them making UBRS / BRD easier though. Specifically dropping 2-4 blood. The guilds that did it first had to work their ass off to get blood and it trivializes our work by making it 2-4x easier.

raid is red I believe... casue we have pvp events there and usally do exactly that 40 man raid for our guild.. then Guildmaster moves who he wants to fight around in the groups...

so yes If i recall correctly if your not in same group in raid you are red.
