New XFX 7600 AGP Graphics card

I had trouble with my monitor not coming to life when booting my PC
I tried another monitor on the system and same thing happened
I have now purchased and installed a new XFX GeForce 7600GT AGP graphics card
and I can't get the drivers to load apparently.
The nvidia install seems to got thru ok, and Device manager
shows the 7600GT but has a yellow mark.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the nvidia drivers but still no go
I am unable to change the display above 800x600 and 4 color
It's like the system isn't seeing the drivers?

I'm running an Abit IC7G MB p4 3.0 Northwood
had been running a geforce 5900 ultra AGP replaced with the 7600GT
1 gig ram, and a 22" NEC Monitor
also an enermax 465w power supply...
Any help would be greatly appreciated..
stumped here, where do I go next?

What drivers are you using. I bought a eVGA 7600GT two months ago, and it came with an eVGA driver disk. These drivers just put in some lame driver files that probably don't do anything more than tell the Display Properties a few size options.

Anyway, I went to the NVIDIA website and downloaded the current Forceware, which is the drivers plus a nifty set of utilities for multiple monitor switching, resizing etc etc. The newest version for the 7600GT is 93.71, just came out a week or two ago I think.

By the way, I uninstalled anything that said eVGA and am just trusting the Nvidia drivers and stuff on their own, all is good for me
