Hi Guys !

I recently visited XFX site. I found an interesting card from there.

Its a supercharged XFX Geforce 8800 GTS XXX 640mb.

Its core is factory overclocked at 600 Mhz with memory at 1900 Mhz. It comes with shader clock of 1500Mhz.

Man I know XFX's Reputation in releasing superclocked cards. But with this one, they really pushed the card to its limit.

I love this card at first sight and decided to go with it. I am not going to overclock this card any further.

But I am really concerned about its reliability.... How many hours I can play graphics intense games at 1280*1024 resolution with this superclocked card?

These are the things that pulling me back from grabbing this baby. So Anybody already purchased this card or anybody knows well about these card stuff, Please help me.

Please tell me about its reliablity. I really would like to use this card atleast for the next four years before i upgrade again..

Your opinions would be greatly considered.

Also one more thing. I am from India. So how many years is the warranty of this card in India?

It's factory overclocked and thus comes with warranty. It should be able to run under full load for hours at a time, if not days. If it doesn't, which I doubt, you RMA it.

Do you honestly think they sell a card that isn't reliable?

the whole point of buying factory overclocked cards is knowing they WILL be stable and reliable at the overclocked speeds!

Run it as much as you want, if it breaks, you get it replaced through warranty.

I really would like to use it for at least 4 years. Since you guys said that its reliable... I am going to buy it.

Ooh I am so much excited. This is my first graphics card purchase. I never used a graphics card before.

Your going to be amazed at the performance difference simk. A dedicated graphics card is rediculously better then an onboard one. I personally would buy the standard version and overclock it myself, but if you dont mind paying the extra $ for the peace of mind then go for it.

overclocking by yourself is the best way to go if you want to save $$$ since some companies cover damage by software overclocks also my card runs 620/2000 when I want it to and its still under warranty

Mr. swtethan That was awesome.

A clock that runs 620/2000. Cool!

I have one more doubt. I do a lot of downloading with my current machine. I have a 256 kbps unlimited internet connection.

What I do is I start the download at night and let it run till the morning. When I wake up almost a 700mb will be downloaded.

I usually download all sorts of things. So it is a daily process. I Do this kind of whole night downloading almost all days in a week.

If I buy this 600/1900 overclocked card from XFX , Will it make any problems during this long hours of downloading?

Keep in mind that the system will be running about 10 - 11 hours during these night download times before I wake up to turn of my system.

All your advices will be appreciated.

I'd built/buy a cheap/2nd hand system just for downloading stuff if possible. Removable HDD racks would be a nice option. Just think of all the electricty you're paying for in the long run. Network them so you can share the files with the more expensive/higher end system.

I use a Athlon 1200+ for downloading (about 20GB/overnight) and network them to my other 3 systems (Athlon 64 3700+). I'm in the midst of upgrading to a P5K Premium mobo, eVGA 8800GTS 640mb, Q6600 G0 stepping, Crucial 2GB PC2-8500, 2 500GB SATA2 HDD (storage) - 80GB for Windows Vista Ultimate OEM, Antec 550W PSU (probably need an upgrade), Chieftec aluminum case and no way am I using this $2000 machine for downloading.

Use the cheapest system you have and let it do the downloading, just my $0.02.

Forgot to mention that i'm using new system with a Dell 2405FPW and a 2001FP LCDs.

Hai Guys !

I spoke to one of the technical support person at XFX.

He said to me like he has a 320Mb XXX card and he left it running for 1 and 1/2 month and nothing happened to the card.

He said that for my purpose of downloading overnight is nothing for the card. It can easily do the purpose without any problem.

He also said that any temperature under 95C is just fine for the card and nothing to worry about.

Also I could easily play high graphics intense games as long as I want and I dont want to worry about the card and He assured me that it wont burn under huge load for hours and hours.

So even with this high 600/1900 overclocking, the card will run smoothly and stable .

Anyways I finally decided to go with this card and game for countless hours.

Okay guys thanks for all your help. I guess this post will be useful for many who is confused just like me.

Anymore opinions .....Please post .... all your opinions before we close this post.
