Nobody is saying he broke any laws, they are just saying this shows pretty clearly why he's so desperate to keep his taxes hidden. This is showing both catastrophic business incompetence AND that he has paid almost nothing in taxes for some years at least while he whines about other businesses not paying enough.

Being outed as an incompetent hypocrite isn't exactly a great news day, haha.

What's hilarious is that Trump massively failed to the tune of almost a billion dollars in 1995, right in the middle of a booming economy. That takes real talent!

I am just wondering why there is this new found outrage about wealthy people and taxes. I would like to see how much taxes are paid as a whole by all the Trump business.... If that amount is zero like Genral Electric then let's have a discussion.

The fact that you think this is some new complaint is rather astonishing.

Trump has spent a lot of time trashing people for not paying what he felt was their fair share of taxes. He has gone after many businesses very publicly for paying taxes but not enough in his eyes. He's also threatened businesses with retribution due to taxes.

Then suddenly it becomes more and more obvious he doesn't pay any himself. No skin in the game while trashing millions of other people just scraping by for not paying anything.

I think this may be more damaging to him than you are willing to acknowledge.

Perhaps..his rabid base won't blink, and for the undecided's, I think the vast majority of them already believe that he pays no taxes and that he's hiding his returns because of that. This is really no surprise to them. Trump's working class supporters don't support him because they think Trump is "one of us", an honest working class guy. They support him because he's a rich fat cat who wants to get richer and fatter...and will bring back their jobs in the process. Although, if your still "undecided" on who is unfit to be president this far in, anythings possible.

Yes..it does make him sound like a hypocrite. I seem to remember him saying: "Barack Obama who wants to raise all our taxes, only pays 20.5% on $790k salary."

From the response from the campaign:

"Mr. Trump knows the tax code far better than anyone who has ever run for President and he is the only one that knows how to fix it."

Lol..."I crash my car a lot, and I know the best mechanics to take it to for repairs. So put me in charge of your automobile company"

I read up on Trump's massive failures in the 90s and what's most notable is that those failures were entirely foreseeable. He was basically financing his real estate empire like a Ponzi scheme where collapse was almost inevitable. The biggest question is why anyone was dumb enough to keep lending him money during those years.

It's looking more and more like he was actually a shitty businessman who failed at the real estate business and later turned to licensing his name and acting in reality TV. Like I said before it seems that Mark Cuban had him pegged as a sham awhile back.

While this shows Trump is probably a shitty businessman along with being an extremely immature person, I cannot blame Trump on this one. He did not write the laws that allowed for this abuse and given the opportunity to legally massively benefit from such laws. There's nothing wrong, as a private citizen, with Trump's availing himself of the breaks that the tax code makes available.Sad is it may be.

It's not Trumps fault he exploits bad policy any more than it's Citigroups fault for doing the same thing.

It's just the law! The super rich have nothing to do with it. It's just good business.

Hmmm and have to read pages of whininess from Hillary enablers... No thanks. You all have shown not to give a rats ass about an wrong dongs by the Clintons.
This makes no sense to me. You waded through pages of unrelated posts in this thread in order to drop your turd here yet find starting a thread dedicated to the topic too much work?

what wrongdoings? seriously, you need to bring something real and tangible to the table. Not various levels of conspiracy nonsense and repeated failed investigations to find anything of substance.

seriously, I think plenty of us would be glad to consider these things, but not one real instance that is shocking beyond typical political nonsense has ever come to light in the last 3 decades of this circle jerk republicans have engaged in with the clintons.

You seem to consistently ignore the fact their charity is actually a charity and not a money funneling scheme, and after repeated attempts there is no culpable evidence of a crime involving them after both of them being in the spotlight for decades.

You just are raging the same old shit, over and over.

Clinton Campaign Admits Hillary Used Same Tax Avoidance "Scheme" As Trump

In the words of Hillary Clinton's campaign manager, "this bombshell report reveals [Hillary Clinton's] past business failures... and may show just how long [Hillary Clinton] may have avoided paying taxes."

The Clintons still paid 31% in federal taxes on an income of $10.6M.

They didn't have to weasel their way through with astoundingly shady business practices, either.

But think of the all the money made by the conspiracy slinging entrepreneurs over those three decades, you can't shut that industry down, hundreds would be thrown out of work.

I'm curious if you know those aren't even remotely similar? Serious question.

Clinton's Campaign Manager has the last word on the issue..like it or not.

In the words of Hillary Clinton's campaign manager, "this bombshell report reveals [Hillary Clinton's] past business failures... and may show just how long [Hillary Clinton] may have avoided paying taxes."

She's released 20-30 years of tax filings. I'll admit I haven't personally combed thru them but its been reported she has paid 30-34% of earnings in taxes on average.
To make a claim like above that ignores all reporting is silly without concrete proof.

Where is the source of this supposed statement by Clinton's campaign manager? The source is not provided in the zerohedge piece. In fact, the author seems to be inserting Clinton's name into a statement concerning somebody else. While this is fine in the context of attempting to build a case for hypocrisy, to quote it here as actually being said by Clinton's campaign manager is chuck full of fail.

That's for damned sure, check out this profile of a Trump supporter: "Finally, someone who thinks like me"

Many of them are crazy, nothing will change their minds.

Reminds me of a conversation I had with a Trump supporter today. I thought the person was rational(known him for a while). And when I brought up Trump, he lost his mind. Rambling about not trusting the government or the media. When I asked where he got his facts from then, he got more enraged. I thought he was going to hit me at one point. His support of Trump was almost religious (the bad kind; where you don't even question it). It was really bizarre and unnerving, esp. given the setting we were in. I felt sorry for him and then mad at the Republican party and Fox News and all their ilk. They have spend years tearing down the government and media, telling these people not to trust anything. And now they blindly put their faith in a fool like trump. It's dangerous to the country.
