Looks like a great deal to me.. 16ms response time, 1280x1024, lots of good reviews at newegg and only $282 shipped!

Should add that it is NOT DVI... only downside i can see =/

I bought this for my Aunt's computer a little while ago for 292 shipped. Looked fine for the price. She really liked it. The screen is nice a bright and sharp.

The casing leaves much to be desired

Actually, it's argued that you don't need DVI for any display under 19 inches.

Well, I have this LCD at work, using it right now. 16ms might be a bit of a stretch, probably not the best for some gamers, but fine for office work & casual gaming. It is VERY bright, good screen. No dead pixels for me.

Note that newegg's dead pixel policy isn't very good. Also, it's kinda short, so it you like to have your monitors up near eye level you'll need a few books..

If you can get a 17" for $200 by xmas I'd say wait.

put a display with dvi and one without right next to each other, and you will see that the DVI is clearly superior.

This monitor looks EXACTLY like an Etronix monitor that I picked up from Officemax 2 (?) weeks ago for slightly less after rebate, coupon, tax. Info I could find stated it was a rebadged LiquidVideo monitor.

Perhaps this is the same?

As stated above, case is fugly, but it's perfectly funtional. Bought 2 and neither had any dead pixels, but others were not as lucky, so beware of Newegg's "no returns for less than 8 dead pixels" clause.

BTW, their price now reads $285

I would argue anyone that stated that. I would never buy any LCD without DVI.

I would like to get an lcd but I have be using uxga for too long and could not bear switching to a lower reselution. LCDs that do uxga seem to start at $700 which is too much, I wish some one wold make a 17 inch lcd that could do uxga
