I was going to pick up a 1TB MX300 for my parents since that was one of the few decent deals on the ad. However, as of 12 hours prior to them going on sale, they are out of stock. Which makes me suspicious. Fortunately the drive was the same price on Amazon and actually in stock and I don't have to wait. So I just ordered it there instead. Then I started checking the few other deals I was moderately interested in as well as some I wasn't and after further research I'm less enthusiastic. The actual discount off normal pricing on most of the items I checked isn't that great. IE the Samsung SL-C480FW for $119.99 "save $230". $174.99 is the normal price for it so the only actual savings is the $55 promo code. Still not a bad price, but far less impressive. The Corsair H60 for $49.99 "save $40" is actually only $20 off the normal price. The Deepcool GAMMAXX 400 for $13.89 "save $26.10" is actually regular price but with a $10 MIR.
Admittedly this probably should go without saying, but check pricing history before jumping on a "deal".
