I returned a motherboard with no question ask.. no 15% restocking fee & send my new mother board Overnight, I really don't know how they make money.I have a lot of problem return part to other internet retailers but not Newegg.com. I will give all of my computer part purchase throught newegg.com

Newegg is great, and they do have a great reputation (esp. at the 9.75 rating at Resllerratings). Just be careful with their "refurbs", as they are often just untested customer returns. I do agree, to, that this is a great opportunity to say hi to Mom before it's lock up (it's not really a "Hot deal").

Even though Newegg is in state (taxes) and sometimes is a few bucks more expensive, you can't beat the service and the speed when it comes to shipping your items. I think the extra few bucks is WELLLLL worth the money IMHO.

I agree their prices are good. However, their shipping prices on many low dollar items is horrible. In the past I've wanted to buy just a few inexpensive items, but they make you add the shipping price for each item. So, what should cost me only $5-$8 in shipping charges from any other vendor, instead costs $15-21 through Newegg.

Yea, but I figure if they send you a crappy motherboard, they should cover the shipping back to them? They lost my business because of that alone. I figure if its their fault, why should I pay to get one that works. All it took was a couple of bucks, but they lost me as a customer.

Since no one has bothered locking this obviously OT thread, I'll throw in my OT $.02.

I bought a MSI Geforce2 GTS video card from newegg over a year ago. About a month later it croaked. When contacted, Newegg pointed to the manufacturer, and the manufacturer pointed to newegg. I eventually trashed the board & ate the loss (I'm still using the sorry TNT2 board I had bought the GFII to replace).

Moral 1: No store is perfect.

Moral 2: Don't start OT threads unless you want people to argue with you.

Moral 3: TNT2's stink. (I figured an OT post could use an OT moral as well).
