I'm doing a rebate for a card. We know they look for any excuse to deny rebates.

The form asks for "Order/Invoice #".

Newegg supplies an Order #, and a different Invoice #.

So which to use? Guess wrong - denied.

I found and contacted the rebate company to tell them of the form problem, got someone who gave me his e-mail to get info and will raise it with the marketing people.

Needed to change a scheduled delivery time. Amazon has repeatedly kept me updated and in contact with the shipping company multiple times a day to make sure I get it when I want.

I long gave up hope on receiving any rebates back, I don't even bother to look for them when buying something.

I'd use the invoice number. The odds that this rebate company has a tie-in to cross reference newegg's systems for correct numbers, has to be low. Beyond that, just dealing with holiday returns clogging up their support system. Newegg hasn't built up a large enough off-shore operation to handle this rush.

newegg via evga trying to screw me on a power supply rebate. flagged denied with no upc even though you can see the upc on the scanned documents newegg basically said they couldn't do anything, evga said they were sending a note to have the document rescanned. going to call again in a couple days and if they can't come through the scanning issue I'll see how helpful newegg is after I contact the CC company.

At the same time, I never base a purchase on the after rebate price in the rare instance it gets denied or "lost." FYI - I've filled out dozens of rebate requests and gotten all but maybe one or two back. Only thing I can figure is the people who complain that they never get their rebate can't follow directions.

I haven't ordered from Newegg in years. Amazon usually has better prices and better shipping and their customer support is generally top notch.

You can get free 2 day shoprunner either by spending $400 or using American Express. I am building another PC and used both e-tailers.

Da egg had the MSI 970 gaming for $79 and I got one of the last 4. It sold out minutes later. Would have been over $100 with tax from Amazon. Newegg had the better prices on the SSD and optical drives too. The case, t.i.m., cooler, and case fans were a better deal at Amazon. I bought the CPU here in fs/ft, and have everything else for the build. I already have gaming rigs, I want to build a AMD boxen as it has been a few years. And I have a retail win7 pro I want to upgrade to 10 pro before the free offer expires.

And I do not know why young Russel Crowe works as a tech/sales rep for Newegg, but if he keeps popping up asking me if I need help, there will be trouble.

Amazon all the way. We recently stopped making purchases on our Newegg Business account and setup an Amazon Business account. We used to spend between $4k and $20k a month with Newegg. I became sick of Newegg's slow shipping. Their shipping used to be decent but it has gone down hill over the past couple of years.
