No longer available or even listed. OUCH

I was looking this morning and they had them "not available" but not you can't even pull it up. Not even in the drop down menus for Intel CPus.....NOTHING

Like it never existed.

I know why.....DUH

figures CPU sales would keep going >MB would stop. But I guess they go hand in hand.

Kind of crazy that they don't even list it anymore, they disappeared.

Well, they go hand in hand because Intel insisted that it be the only supplier of chipsets AND they made sure you needed a new motherboard to use the new processors. As Marlin likes to keep pointing out, when Intel hitched its wagon to the overpriced turd that was rambus ram it was good old VIA that kept the chips selling.

I think what he means is that Newegg pulled not only MBs, but all CPUs as well. You can no longer buy any Sandy Bridge-based products. That's pretty huge.

rejoice 1156 owners!!

???? I'm trying to make sense of that statement but.....It makes no sense.

Maybe my rig burst into flames yesterday but it's still running for some reason.
I'm the one rejoicing since no one can buy these parts for atleast 30-60 days.
Motherboards will be in limited supply until late March.

I can mark up my PC for a respectable profit. There are many people out there who still want this platform.
1156, not so much.

Yes, understood...but where were you going to run the CPU anyway without a motherboard?

Newegg probably pulled them because if it pulled the motherboards only, people were going to buy their CPUs and they likely would suffer a large amount of returns as customers either: Assumed newegg was out of MBs and then found they couldn't get a motherboard elsewhere or returned the motherboard they bought elsewhere because of the bug AND then returned the now useless CPU to newegg.

It might be overkill, but the dust hasn't really settled yet on this and I doubt newegg wants to be left holding the bag. We might see the cpus back up for sale today as they get confirmation or something...or they might not be back until April.

Rejoice 1155 2600K users (myself included) that are rocking a system that smokes your 1156 for the next 2 months while nobody else can buy SB!

oh... I wouldn't be so sure that your 2600K beats my 1156 system....

Unless your SATA II ports break down, and then you have to switch over to the 2 SATA III ports until your replacement mobo arrives. By that time, the new revision boards will be out and we'll all be rockin' the socket 1155 (Not me though. i'll wait for the replacement for skt 1366)

Not sure you really can 'mark up' your 2600K/Mobo combo with everyone knowing about the recall going on now. Who would buy a P67/H67 mobo with a known defect? (People who have too much money and not enough brains--yeah i know that )

Many people (including myself) wouldn't consider the flaw a serious issue, since we're not using Sata 3G ports. It's like dating a girl who's missing a toe.

Looks like newegg pulled all bundles as well, as in, there are no bundles (CPU & mobo) for intel or AMD.

Not sure how many people would like to be missing a toe though. For me, if I purchased a mobo and everything on it didn't work, I would be upset. I wouldn't pay for a broken/maimed mobo.

???????????????????????? I'm using a hyperbolic amount of question marks to show incredulity while using vocabulary that is deadpan so that your above statement seems even more ridiculous?????????????????????

They aren't available because they are flawed. Good luck "marking yours up" and getting someone to buy it. Even if yours doesn't burst into flame, no one except you thinks 1156 is dead. So go troll somewhere else.

No - just pushing back a bit on the "ohhhhh my heart goes out to all the dunderheads who happened to buy SB and now look at the royal mess they're in" attitude from several posts. I don't really see how my life has gotten a whole lot worse since Sunday, and I can still use my PC anyway until someone allows me to replace my board. People act as if this is the most horrible thing that could happen to a person.

And my 2600K does everything you need AND some.....more......:awe:

For me its $800 actually, and for me I was going to buy a new PC anyway to upgrade my 2005 vintage Pentium D, so I guess I had all that extra money in the bank that you spent on your E8400 earning returns over the past several years while I bided my time waiting for an upgrade.......

So would I..

But......So far, with all the thousands of posts regarding this issue, I haven't seen one documented case of anyone having a problem because of this ..
( If you don't count Intel acknowledging they have seen the problem... )
