I am sure you could.... But why ? I am waiting till the new boards come i, and then I will rma for a refund. And I want free return shipping !

I like this too, but it assumes that there is some overlap time between availability of new boards and Newegg allowing returns. Although if they've already done this special email etc, I doubt they're gonna stick it to you down to the exact day when it comes time to returning.

Will be interesting re: Z68 timing. It will probably still be "coming soon" when its time for the Newegg return window to end....then it will be decisions decisions

This shouldn't be a rejoice for 1156 owners. It's a rejoice for 1366 owners.

HELL YEAH i7 920/930/940/950/960/970/980 owners. We were getting smoked by the new SB processors, but now we get to flex our muscles again..... temporarily. Make our $250 motherboards and $300+ CPUs worth it! TRI SLI BABY and TRIPLE CHANNEL RAM!!! YAYUH

So would I..

But......So far, with all the thousands of posts regarding this issue, I haven't seen one documented case of anyone having a problem because of this ..
( If you don't count Intel acknowledging they have seen the problem... )

Well we probably wont just yet but if Intel see's this as a problem P67 wide, I am sure we haven't heard the last of it. Time will tell. And Yes I too picked up the 2600k. So, we'll see.

:awe::awe::awe: sweet post

Yeah sign me up for a $1000 980x "beast" please. Not. 2600k is plenty of woman for me to handle.

Good thing is there are a bunch of people who can keep rocking SB right on through......so the "early adopters get screwed" (a little but not really) while the fence sitters have to wait now to get anything unless they buy off Ebay.

Just wondering why you don't like the ASRock? I'm admittedly a building noob, but mine seems to work just great and I like the features/price combo.

Well, I think there something odd with the bios. I upgraded to the latest, and couldn;t get it to overclock at all. Then went back to the original, and only get 4.4. It won't even post at 4.5, but stable at 4.4 Thats too odd. I think with what I have I should be able to get 4.6-4.8, but I could be wrong.

Also, no IDE port, and I think ASUS has that.

Bummer, now I am out over $20 with a restocking fee and shipping my mobo back, when I was perfectly happy doing the workaround. Is there anywhere else to get the CPU from?

Rejoice 1155 2600K users (myself included) that are rocking a system that smokes your 1156 for the next 2 months while nobody else can buy SB!

That's kind of a stupid comment...

A lot of 1156 owners (myself included) are waiting for the 1366 replacement. No sense in replacing something that works perfectly fine for what I do anyway.

I live in Australia, and after a huge wait we finally got all the Socket 1155 stuff, and I upgraded only to find out about the mobo problems, but it doesn't affect me atm, and then in April (or December probably for us Aussies) when the revised mobo's come out i'll get mine replaced.

Companies have pulled the mobo's off their websites here, but 1 company has put them back up with reduced costs and they are all clearly labeled with the problems so people know what they are getting.

Places in the US doing this also?

Aussie place to buy em -> www.pccasegear.com.au

No more stupid than the comment that preceded it, which was "1156 Owners Rejoice!" - basically throwing mud at all those who were SandyBridge buyers....like a "see I told ya so, and by the way, my 1156 is still awesome"

It was a gratuitous comment, and so my comment was meant to just turn around his language and basically say "yeah well I don't see what the big deal is...I get a new mobo in a few months and I can still use my system today"

I think you needed that context because "I didn't start it"....

Well, they go hand in hand because Intel insisted that it be the only supplier of chipsets AND they made sure you needed a new motherboard to use the new processors.

Absolutely right.

The sting could be a alittle lesser if they at least had a small competitor making chipsets. And they still would not really lose lots of money to a competitor either when things are fine.
