Well, they go hand in hand because Intel insisted that it be the only supplier of chipsets AND they made sure you needed a new motherboard to use the new processors. As Marlin likes to keep pointing out, when Intel hitched its wagon to the overpriced turd that was rambus ram it was good old VIA that kept the chips selling.

I can mark up my PC for a respectable profit. There are many people out there who still want this platform.
1156, not so much.
Not sure you really can 'mark up' your 2600K/Mobo combo with everyone knowing about the recall going on now. Who would buy a P67/H67 mobo with a known defect? (People who have too much money and not enough brains--yeah i know that )

Sure, easy for you to say, but what if you have a foot fetish ?Many people (including myself) wouldn't consider the flaw a serious issue, since we're not using Sata 3G ports. It's like dating a girl who's missing a toe.

???? I'm trying to make sense of that statement but.....It makes no sense.
Maybe my rig burst into flames yesterday but it's still running for some reason.
I'm the one rejoicing since no one can buy these parts for atleast 30-60 days.
Motherboards will be in limited supply until late March.

is this some kind of a piss match?
My E8400 does everything I need AND some........but I still have my 1k in the bank (and you don't)
:hmm:
So would I..Not sure how many people would like to be missing a toe though. For me, if I purchased a mobo and everything on it didn't work, I would be upset. I wouldn't pay for a broken/maimed mobo.
