Newegg is worthless

They have been holding my board for 3 weeks and now they are saying I broke it and have to pay $43.

Since I refused to pay $43 they sent the broke board back and now I have to wait for it to get here so I can go thru AsRock to get a new board which could take (2+ weeks)

They have also been holding onto my return for 10 days and still haven't processed it.

Why is Newegg so horrible?

Original posts restored for continuity. It appears OP may have been responsible for the damage to his board & Newegg realized this. Regardless, this thread turned into a train wreck that the OP should have requested be locked long ago. Good luck on the new build, OP.

everything at newegg has a damn rebate now. Newegg sucks badly now. I shop with Amazon now, shipping is so much faster, no rebate scams, customer service is far superior.

Nothing's really wrong with Newegg. Problem is that they haven't changed or kept up with Amazon's level of customer service and 2 day shipping. Newegg today is the same as it was many years ago, they just need to keep up with Amazon.

These things always cycle. New company tries hard to get huge then gets cheap and lazy as another company takes their customers then they try to win back their customers and downsize, reorganize, get new CEO and it starts all over again unless they manage to keep enough customers to maintain greed...like Walmart.

I went newegg because they gave me a $1000 were Amazon gave me $400. Now I have no board because I broke it (which I didn't) and Neweggs had it 3 weeks and they're sending me the broken board back. :/ They are holding my $272 and they don't know why so I can't get a new card. Which I hadn't maxed my Amazon card...

it's been the opposite for me, and it could have something to do with the years between, but in my experience:

--living in Chicago, for 5 years, (5 years ago), I ordered from Newegg a lot. Like, a shit ton. It never took more than 2 days to get something, and shipping was cheap.

Amazon was about the same, if not more convoluted deliveries.

--Now, in Berkeley for the last 5 years, the two or three orders I have placed through Newegg have taken 1-2 weeks each for delivery. WEEKS. This is their 2 "business-day" shipping. Prices are shit. Yes, the rebates are everywhere.

Amazon has only gotten better. Now I sometimes get things the next day.

Could be when Newegg switched to UPS a few years ago, but for whatever reason, it seems like living closer to them, my service has gone to shit.

I'm afraid to say I saw that one coming. I didn't think anyone could have warned you away from Newegg if they had tried. You were so eager to get a system built using the credit card they gave you.

Can you protest Newegg charges on a Newegg credit card?

I buy very little from them any more. Amazon seldom questions an RMA and with Prime you get free return shipping.

Probably just end up buying a $70 board from newegg...then put it in my moms build when I get a new board from AsRock.

Wish Amazon would give me a increase when I pay my card off so I can buy my moms parts there.

Then yes I probably messed the board up. I had no clue those were standoffs until I read my manual after many failed attempts. My 1st build did not have them and it worked fine, I don't get that.
