I'm starting to get a picture of how the convo with Newegg support probably went.
Seriously.
Between the random cursing, self flagellation and odd way of communicating, they were probably really confused.
I'm sorry it was on the newest threads bar. Also sorry I'm an active member there.
The story changes again. Wow.
How? Asked what my accidental warranty covered.
Idk. It was something with the cpu fan or cpu socket. Who knows. I'll get it dealt with Monday when they open.
It booted and registered the CPU so guessing it was a cpu fan pin. Don't matter anyways. Newegg will hopefully explain my warranty Monday.
Plus the packaging was shit so wouldn't be surprised if it came that way.
You can't be serious. I don't think I've built more than 6 computers (I got a late start in 2005) between myself and friends and I don't think I've ever seen a single one come with standoffs installed, in any number of cases. That said, I did a shit-ton of research before building my first one and had no issues with any of them.Granted most mobo manuals are very generic but keep in mind that many cases have standoffs already installed, most all of mine over the years did but I think many of the cheaper ones don't. those manuals are designed as guidelines for "professionals" if you will. I think it even says something about having a proper builder do it or something to that effect.
It's like buying a model airplane that has a high skill level rating, not really for beginners but of course we all start somewhere.
However the best thing any new builder should do is consult youtube videos showing you step by step not only how to build but what to avoid. Learn from the mistakes of others. There are countless PC building videos, bios tweaking videos....etc.
Most importantly, take your time. Computer equipment can generally tolerate a lot but treat it as if it was made of conductive glass. Wear anti static bands even though it's rare, shit happens. Follow along with the instructional videos and try to find one that is detailed. There are a ton of little things to watch out for even though PC building is considered easy.
The C70 has preinstalled standoffs.
Raidmax vampire, apparently not.
I think the corsair does the preinstalled standoffs because it appears my mom's case has them too.
I've never seen pre-installed standoffs.
The OP tried to cover up his tracks by ninja editing one of his later threads by scrubbing out his mistake about the the standoffs. Then I pointed out an earlier thread where he pointedly admits that he might've killed the mb by not installing standoffs and has a play by play about his mb error codes. Now he insists that the mb isn't fried just because it manages to boot up albeit with error codes. The OP seems to have made many threads about it, so it is difficult to keep up. But I think as well as the "fan failure", it was coming up with many fault codes, so it may well be "FIRED" !.
This is the thread I was referring to (Error codes). BUT this poster makes so many millions of threads, and is not the clearest of posters. I find it difficult to 100% follow what is going on.
