The OP tried to cover up his tracks by ninja editing one of his later threads by scrubbing out his mistake about the the standoffs. Then I pointed out an earlier thread where he pointedly admits that he might've killed the mb by not installing standoffs and has a play by play about his mb error codes. Now he insists that the mb isn't fried just because it manages to boot up albeit with error codes.

I see, thanks for the explanation.

Even if it was just a bent cpu pin (or something), these days such returns are usually refused (I think), as the supplier will say it was damaged by the user.

I almost feel like asking a mod to mercy kill this thread. We are beating a dead horse with another dead horse.

Son you've got all the social aptitude of a rotten fish sandwich that fell out of the hands of a dirty hobo into a sewer drain. I hope your mom throws you into a well and lowers buckets with lotion in them every so often for no apparent reason you dishonest whiney little brat. Everyone in here is dumber for having been subjected to your constant whining over having been caught in a lie. I award you no points, and may the internet have mercy on your soul.

I am saving the extreme4 board until I can get a 4670k. I am going to purchase a

ASRock Fatal1ty H87 Performance

and build using my moms case, so it's a win win for both of us because she'll get that computer in June or October.

Then I'll have to buy all new crap, joy.

Easier right now to buy a board that is meant for the parts I have then use a overclocking board when I don't have a overclockable CPU (yet)

So I think newegg kinda helped me out actually by refusing the RMA.

That sounds sensible. Better/cheaper stuff is usually available the later it is bought. (With computer bits).

No clue if that is sarcasm or not. Hard to tell on this site now...

No sarcasm (none-intended or intentionally implied), it was a serious answer.

i.e. Yes, often best to buy stuff which suits your current parts.

And generally computer parts drop in price, and improve in specification, over time (years).

E.g. A $200, old HDD with 120Mb size, originally, is relatively worthless now.

In 2024, a 10T HDD will probably be under $100 (Wild guess) = better specification and cheaper.

I get my card half paid off in March so I can just buy a 4670k to go with my extreme4 because LOGIC. Then whatever random crap I may need which hopefully won't total more then $500 (all I am looking to have on it), haha.
:ninja:

Let's pray this ASRock board will be better, lol

Successful Ninja of my post, which hopefully means great luck comes to your future/new/next build. (Again, NO sarcasm).

I've never seen pre-installed standoffs.

Odd. I really cannot remember the last time I've had to install standoffs in a case. All the Corsairs I've bought, an 800, 600 and two 650's, had the standoffs installed, the Lain-Li A04 had them installed, the Silverstone Sugo 02 even had them already installed. Even the el cheapo Antec Three hundred had them preinstalled.

Granted, you buy $20 cases and they may not be, but the cases without either the brass standoffs preinstalled or the preformed "bump" type standoffs there are rare indeed.

But I'm not surprised the Raidmax case didn't have them installed. It's tough to buy a cheaper POS than a Raidmax anything.

Well Raidmax is know for making junk BUT COME IT HAD THE NAME VAMPIRE HOW COULD I PASS THAT UP?!?

I spent $120 on my Raidmax case. So yeah I was like well I didn't need them for my corsair and my book has nothing about Standoffs so I guess I don't them? So I just did it. Yeah, fail apparently.

My c70 and my 230t have the standoffs so obviously corsair is the way to go in the future, lesson learned.

you said it ..prove it..or are you just blowing smoke out your ass??

ok

http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1694667

you probably don't want to read all 27 pages so heres the jist of it

guy buys board, has no video with his gtx 580 any of them.

tries other cards and has video, so the board works.

rma's to newegg gets it sent back and has 1/4 of the pins mushed rma denied.

buysa a second board in the interim doesn't even take the socket protector off sends it back due to quality issues.

denied rma cause again pins bent.

eventually gets it sorted but wow...

just google newegg bent pins. too many to be user error.

hell it's gotten so bad people are sending in pictures of there sockets and making movies of them showing the socket on youtube and i think one guy made a video while packing the boards.
