Kingmax is good stuff and these prices are pretty decent. Moreso the 512MB stick

I willl have to defer to Newegg not carrying crap and the comments section. It fits the specs for my 700m and people have posted in comments for the gig stick that it worked fine in the 7oom. Im not expecting blazing speeds, just more storage....

I almost always go with crucial.com for my RAM. However, I have used the Kingsmax RAM when adding memory to various apple notebooks I've had and I've never had a problem

I have Kingston everywhere and never had problems.

Obviously fewer modules is generally better because you keep a slot free for the next upgrade. But wait until they sort that rebate out.

actually, i believe some laptops can use dual channels - it may be a function of the sonoma chipset?

Like when i go into the bios on my i6000, with my 2x256 sticks, it shows it as dual channel. considering i do not feel like taking out a stick, and do not have other compatible ram at my disposal, i have not tested other configurations.

If you never intend on putting more than 1GB of ram in your laptop through the lifetime of the usefullness of the laptop to you, i would save that $13, because personally, i don't see myself putting more than 1GB into a laptop... but that's just me.
