Something equally crappy happened with me.

I ordered an opteron 144 from buy.com showing as instock Sunday night. I had selected 2 day shipping, and a holiday banner said any in stock order shipped second day or faster would be guaranteed for xmas.

I call monday to make sure everything is fine, they check, yep, in stock, no worries at all, it will be here for xmas. The next day I call, another lady answers, my order is backordered, they never had the processor... to top it off, they never contacted me on it, said it wasn't their problem, and gaveme crap about canceling my order... also, the item STILL today shows as being in-stock!

So, I reorder last night from mwave, who had a banner add proudly proclaiming if ordered by noon pst today, overnight delivery would get here tommorow. I call today to get my status, and she said that the banner was jsut to get people do order and there is virtually no way it will be here on time bastards

Yep, I'm having a similar experience with Newegg right now. I would submit the review, because its not like any of it isn't true.

Too long, shorten it and more people will actually read the whole thing.

You can still get your point across with less words.

their fedex rates aren't reasonable... zzf offered the same processor from NE at $20 lower cost and fedex 2 day free... either NE is making some nice profits from switching shipping, or Fedex screwed NE...

Is it really that big of a deal? Its not like you didnt get your items or they were broken or anything. Buying online these days, I am happy if I just get the right thing and it works.

NewEgg has really gone downhill in the last few months.
They used to ship the same day almost all of the time.
I always got shipments in two days, now I am lucky if it is three.
Their website is terribly slow now.
I am very disappointed. They were much more reliable in the past.
Switching to UPS by default is just about the last straw.
I'll be trying ZZF per the replies here.

Yeah, I'm sure Newegg called UPS at the busiest time of the year, and told them to hold your packages. Next time try ordering more than just a few days before a major holiday?

Yea but newegg choose UPS as their main shipper. If they had stuck with Fed-Ex they would have much less problems like they did in past. Now of course they still offer fed-ex as another option, but it cost more then Zipzoomfly or mwave starts looking better.

Since they use UPS I'm thinking I'm going to start ordering from places that have Fedex shipping. I'm not paying outrageous Fedex charges from newegg, and I'm not comfortable with letting UPS handle my goods.

I've had too many horror stories with UPS and none from Fedex.

If you guys hate UPS (I kinda do) then go with ZZF as many above have stated.
I think most stuff there is 2nd day FedEx!
To me they are just as good as Newegg for getting the packages out, but their website lacks features.
I like Newegg since they have "reviews", good pictures, and a better website layout. I would like Newegg to have more product information though and ofcourse the switch to FedEx instead of UPS.
I would still order from Newegg if it is cheaper and choose UPS shipping as it only takes two days to get to me.

The reason why we had to offer UPS was because Fedex raised our rates. Our policy as a company is to do our best to offer the best choices and best price to our customers. UPS was willing to offer rates that would help keep the shipping costs competative for customers. Therefore we wanted to offer both; we still are great partners with Fedex, but we have to respect their decision to change rates. We realize that there were several issues that needed to be ironed out with UPS, and believe me we are working round the clock to fix them.

Our desire has always been to provide the best experience possible for all of you. This is a tough industry but we promise to do our best. We can't please everyone, but your feedback has always been instrumental in making Newegg better.

yeah ups sucks, they shipped my 100$ headphones to 516 route 2 instead of 519.

also a few days late.

I was pissed. although I got my headphoens, I had to cross the highway to get them.

which they should have been on my doorstep.

I remember when newegg used to offer free fedex saver shipping on MOST items and I would get them on my doorstep in 2 days. I don't understand how UPS can offer such low rates when their charges to customers are easily 10 dollars more, while Fedex is still reasonably cheap for customers. Interesting...

I ordered a videocard yesterday morning, and the UPS guy just dropped it off 2 hours ago. No problem.

for me.

If you wanted FedEx you should have selected it. Can't really blame NewEgg for that.

As far as the shipment, you placed a large order. They may have had to bring in a part or two from a supplier as someone who placed an order ahead of you may have gotten the last of the stock in the warehouse. Or they had to ship an item from a different warehouse to that one first. This happens from time to time and it's not anything they did wrong probably. Your other one probably arrived first because it was still in stock and didn't have to be ordered.

Maybe they ran out but they had an order from their supplier coming in in another day or two. You don't know...you probably didn't even ask. If you needed something for Christmas I would hope you would have ordered before the 19th.
