If this really is a Newegg rep checking in, its nice to see that they at least care... I have to say I'm not happy with the switch to default UPS either... I ordered a Viewsonic 19 inch CRT that arrived on time, but was damaged by UPS & left on my dads porch without a signature... the side of the box was ripped badly & apparently somone at UPS decided to tape it back together, ignoring the fact that the moniter screen got hacked & the bezel had a large crack in it... Newegg is going to take care of it, but now my money is tied up for two weeks & my daughter has no moniter for her new PC... I just hate UPS, especially for anything large & heavy.

Sorry to say it, but unless Newegg's Fedex rates drop, I think I'll be switching to ZZF myself.

i dont know... with ups ground from newegg now i get packages in 1 day but it comes with a risk of destruction....

fedex saver from newegg before took 2 days..

I get monitors, printers, LCD's and all sorts of equipment shipped to me via UPS and I have yet to have a problem. This is at a small business doing over $1 Million in sales per year. I've been there 3 years. Never had to file a claim. I get stuff FedEx/UPS/DHL depending on where it's from...never any issues.

It really is unfortunate with the way rates and contracts works out that UPS is the cheapest solution w/ Newegg.

Man, feel the hate towards UPS, as an employee it hurts

As the largest delivery company we tend to get a bit overwhelmed during the holidays (initial reports show that we delivered upwards of 22 million packages peak day compared to 14 million on a normal day) so some packages do not make it on time. Thats why all the major carries get rid of there garuntees on service for the month, there are just too many freaking packages to get delivered. We had drivers out until 9pm daily for the last few weeks and they still could not deliver everything.

Anyway, as for newegg and it's switch the only thing that has changed for me is the time. FedEx had my stuff to me in 2-3 days with an even split between those times. We almost always take 3 days to get it to me. Not really a huge deal since it is 3-day shipping but it is different (Seattle, Wa). Personally the only damages I have had are from FedEx and DHL but I could just be lucky (that or they know who I work for and are doing this on purpose...)

As I have stated before, if anyone has a UPS package issue in the WA, OR, or ID are pm me and I'll see what I can do.

4:33 am now and my brain is REALLY dead. Another 2 and a half hours and this will be my first 24 hour work day.

Then why do you not combine shipping? That has always been the most ridiculous thing about buying from Newegg. Buy a computer case and say... a stick of RAM. The stick of ram costs you $5 extra to ship. Nonsense.

Yes we are currently working on revamping the shipping calculator to address this issue. I hope that it will be adjusted within the next month or two.
