I too was having a problem with the Soyo rebates (Motherboards purchased from Newegg.com).

The following worked for me, I hope others can benefit from this info.

I contacted Newegg.com (Erick Yoshihara 1-800-390-1119 x144) and was advised to do the following:

Fax a copy of the rebate with all details to Soyo (909)937-0783 Att: Elizabeth

She is the contact working directly with Newegg.com on this situation.

Soyo has promised to re-submit all rebates that have not been processed in a timely fashion.

In my case I faxed the data to Soyo on 2/2/2005 and received checks for all pending rebates 2/7/2005 (3 Total)

Good Luck....

I hope Soyo is serious about this, as I have not and would not buy another Soyo product as long as they are keeping people the run around on rebates.

When rebates take over 16 weeks to be processed, that is unnacceptable.

Not getting a rebate for 6+ months or not at all is pitiful.

I tried sending a e-amil to soyo@verifyrebates.com as suggested, The e-mail was returned as undeliverable. I have received a message from Eric at Newegg to mail to Luis all my documents. I was not informed of the fax option. I guess we'll see what happens.

I got the same contact (Luis). I e-mailed NE back to see if I could use the fax option. Will follow up if I hear back.

After reading about this mess, I can safely say that I will NEVER buy a Soyo product. They're still putting people through a hassle with telling you all to e-mail this and that, e-mail at a variety of addresses, etc etc etc. I noticed that they keep using the "lost in the mail" excuse for a ton of people. What a lousy company. I hope they go out of business.

Total agreement columbiaflier. Soyo is either the most inefficient company in the world or the most crooked. I tend to think the latter. I think Newegg is finally putting a little pressure (after enough of us have complained to Newegg) on Soyo because Soyo's cheating ways are starting to make the Egg look bad as a marketer for a crooked supplier, and we certainly don't want to do anything to tarnish the Egg's reputation. The way the Egg is pricing their products in the last few months, I wouldn't buy their stock. I think the pricing strategy of this new group will hurt them in the long run. Just an opinion.

Newegg should stop carrying SOYO products given the track record with rebates. Then I will truly believe that Newegg is looking out for customers like us. Until then it is just 'lip' service :disgust:

If the rebate form says to call if you have not received the check in 14 weeks why should anyone have to wait 16 weeks to contact the rebate processors? The rebates should have been processed as they came in and the checked mailed at the 14 week mark. You don't wait 14 weeks or 16 weeks and then start processing them.

I hope you don't use the same lame response to those who are being told that their rebates may be "lost or misdirected" by the likes of Rodolf Fowler that you used on Fatwallet. There are enough people reporting "lost" rebates that it is not an insignificant few that you seem to think it is.

Above all don't blame the customer until you have all the facts.

One positive note, it is good to finally know your name Steve. Don't know why you chose to hide it on FW.

Just wanted to let you guys know that Newegg said I should use the snail-mail option rather than trying to fax. I might try faxing anyway though. (Snail mail being a last resort).

Most people i've talked to have recieved their rebates, it just takes a ridiculous amount of time. While i think it's dumb that it takes so long, those who expect them to buy the product, submit the forms and have a check, all within a month's time, need to be shot in the foot, with people like many on here, who troll forums and chat rooms looking for deals and rebates on stuff, it's hard to keep up. They probably have less than 10 people tasked to process and fill thousands of rebates.

And what massive research did you conduct to come up with the "They probably have less than 10 people..."? Or did you just pull that out of your @$$?

And thats anybodies fault who buys this stuff because? That has to rank in my top ten most stupid arguments I have ever seen.

They offer a deal at all major resellers and then don't honor it because "there were just too many submissions"??????

My $75 worth of rebates (from over 5 months ago) are now approved after faxing the papwork in this AM. So I guess I'll be seeing my two checks pretty soon. I'm glad Newegg helped out on this. I think they handled it well.

Uh, it is not Newegg's fault. Soyo offered the rebate. Newegg is not the only site that sells Soyo products. They are the only retailer I have seen so far do anything to get Soyo to honor their rebates.

If they would have just paid that person to process rebates, we could have seen an increase of ten rebates a day at Soyo.

First off I do not now nor have I ever worked for Soyo.

The reason for my comment was merely to state the fact that success with problem rebates from
companies such as Soyo often are solved many different ways.

Your success will vary with the many different suggestions posted in this forum.

I was just conveying that I was pleased that others might have been helped by my post.

Good Lord, enough of the conspiracy theories......
