Newegg needs to have some kind of "x number of days" price match, not the lame Iron Egg.

Most retail stores will do that kind of price adjustment...

That's what many people do these days, Newegg is still excellent for researching what you need, then go and buy on Amazon!! Its like the best buy for computer parts

Amazon now charges me sales tax. Since Amazon mostly price matches Newegg and Best Buy instead of being price leader, I rarely buy from Amazon. If I want it now, I buy it from Best Buy since it's the same price and I get it now. If I can wait, I buy from Newegg since I don't pay tax at Newegg. The only thing going for Amazon is their superior customer service. But price > CS.

So they are doing away with shoprunner? or will keep both? If they are doing away with shoprunner then that's another nail in their coffin.

They're keeping both for now, but I suspect Newegg will drop Shoprunner in the near future if Premier gains any traction.

I'm not the type to pay for Premier, Shoprunner, or Amazon Prime. The only reason I'm using Shoprunner and Amazon Prime is because it's free. (Shoprunner free through Amex and Amazon Prime free through family member)

a great way to eliminate newegg restocking fees is to buy stuff from amazon.

seriously. putting stuff that should be standard customer service in a premier tier is lame.

This, totally this. Especially for DoA items. Defective merchandise should not have a restocking fee for crying out loud.

tbh, I've gotten burned enough times by shitty Newegg customer service that unless the price difference is significant, I'm going to Amazon.

for the extra maybe $5 on an item once or twice a year, I like knowing that I'm not going to need to worry about getting screwed on restocking fees and the like.

I can count with one hand the number of times I needed the help of customer service at Newegg and Amazon. I've only had pleasant experiences with both. But Amazon definitely has the best customer service of any online company.

If I have any problem with a merchant, Amex has my back. Since I only use Amex at Newegg for the free Shoprunner, I'm not worried. Amex is more customer friendly than even Amazon. Amex will fight for you and pay out of their pocket to make you happy. At Amazon, I use Amazon Chase Visa. Chase is not in same league with Amex when it comes to CS. So if there is a real problem, I'm better off shopping at Newegg with Amex than Amazon with Amazon Chase Visa.

If it's anything like the Shoprunner (which I have through AMEX) deal they do, it won't be good enough for me

When Amazon says "2-Day", it means I click order right now and I'm getting Saturday afternoon at the latest (I notice quite often the Saturday delivery charge only starts to show up on Friday). Probably tomorrow if their mind-reading, drone-flying, eyeball-watching precognition ordering system is really on the ball.

Newegg sits on their butt as long as possible. Then ships out with something rated for at least a day more than the guarantee.

Wife didn't even blink when I told her Amazon Prime was probably going up. I think it means we will just have to order more

Signed up at work, I've had better luck with Newegg.com than Newegg Business (their site can be SO SLOW!). I do most of my parts through Amazon for convenience and I usually get my Newegg shipments in 3 days or less anyway, but having it guaranteed would be nice. I'm curious what the 1-day & 2-day discounts are (it doesn't specify on their site).

I guess I've been spoiled by prime that I don't think $50/yr for 3-day shipping on only computer junk is worth it.

IMO 3-day shipping should be their bottom of the barrel, 2-day should be a premium service.

Same here (once at Newegg after the Sandy Bridge SATA debacle, and once at Amazon when I ordered an impact with a detent pin instead of a ball). It seems like when a thread like this comes up that customer service and return policy are the end all be all of a merchant's quality. Are you folks just really unlucky with ordering DoA stuff, or are you just not 100% sure when you buy something? I have no problem with a shop discouraging the latter, as I am not really the tire-kicking type.

When I first started shopping at Newegg I got everything within 3 days. I'm not paying a membership fee to get that back. I'll just continue to order from Amazon and get my stuff in 2 days.
