Newegg: Refurb a7n8x deluxe--$60/free shipping

Again, newegg has hundreds of these boards they received from Asus.
There is no hurry to buy right now. They dropped the prices twice already and if you don't get into stampede buying it the price will go down another notch this week.

If you get 1.04 board and since Asus boards are all without anything, just bare board, that is not a good deal since Abit NF7-S which is as good or better board sells ordinarily for $59 with all the accessories.

Just got my second one. Both of mine are rev 2.0. As far as the accessories, I havent had a need. If you email Asus rma department and ask specifically for just the io shield backplate they will normally send you one out for free. I have recieved 2 backplates now for free.

As far as who refurbished the boards...according to serial number on mine the asus rep said it was returned to them for refurbishing. So asus themselves do the refurbishing. Pretty much all of Newegg's refurb products are refurbed by the manufacturer. GL on getting a rev 2.0 I am 2 for 2 and my neighbor is 0 for 2.

I got rev 2.0, ordered and received last week. Fresh smell, like every says but havent had the chance to fire it up. been waiting on the SVC $20 SLK-900A Heatsink to come in

im about to order me one of these asus's, but i didnt think that u could dual-channel PC2700. i have mushkin basic, and im wondering if u can do this b4 i go and buy this board.
Thoughts, suggestions? let me know..

Yes this board supports Dual DDR 400, which means up to 400mhz max (unoverclocked).

what brand and type of memory pairs well with this mobo...thinking about 512mb dual channel kit... couldnt find it in the mobo thread must have missed it cuz theres so much info on there

I think there are some known issues with c2 corsair. There are some possible resolutions for this though. You'll have to look into it.

Hey all, a few things:

#1. It looks like they are OOS @ newegg.com of these boards
#2. I ordered mine yesterday, and my shipping invoice says 'MB NFORCE2 A7N8X DELUXE ASUS RTL' Did everyone else's say that? RTL normally means 'retail' so i'm wondering if maybe they ran out of hte refurbs and are just sending me a new one?

It could be. I ordered mine tuesday and just looked at my detail in detail and mine says RTL too. I also ordered the retail Barton 2500 chip and it says RTL too. Maybe we lucked out.

Nah, that's just the product description. If you look at the Newegg part number on your invoice, if it has an R at the end of the number then it's a refurb.

Yeah, I just realized that and came to post my findings, but you beat me to it. The item number is 13-131-436R which comes up on newegg as the refurb and 13-131-436 comes up as the new one. :brokenheart:

Yeah, it came. It was just the mobo. I called the RMA dept @ asus and ordered teh accessory pack for $15 + $5 shipping. She said it would go out tomorrow and be shipped ups ground. From what I could tell at looking through the online manual, you need the accessory pack to use the firewire ports.

I have a problem with my newegg refurb. I ran a JUIHB 1700+ dlt3c wk 319 at 11x200=2200MHz for about a year on an Epox 8RDA rev 1.1 for about a year at default 1.5 voltage. My BIOS got corrupted after changing a lot of settings at once, so I just bought the Asus A7N8X Deluxe (got rev 2.0!). The Asus works fine at 9.5x200=1900MHz, but it won't go any higher, no matter how I tweak the voltage. Tried different BIOSs, but got the same result. I get the audible Asus bios warning that system failed due to overclocking at anything above 1900MHz (halt on errors is disabled too). I run the ram asynchronous at 133 MHz in both the Asus and the Epox (fsb at 200, of course).

Here are my specs:
1700+ AMD JUIHB DL3C wk 319 running 200x9.5=1900
SLK-800a with fan
True Control Antec 550 Power Supply
WD 60GB HD Special Edition
Crucial 2100 2x256 running at 133 MHz
9500 ATI softmod to 9700
