NewEgg Rewards

This is a repost of a thread I started over at Hard Forums dealing with NewEgg rewards. There are two ways for loyal NewEgg customers to get goodies from them. I hate to see the peeps here at AT lose out on the rewards.

Here's #1

My favorite online 'puter parts supplier, NewEgg, is saying Thank You to those of us who say Thanks to them. I sent their customer service department a short email thanking them for their help with a small problem and their always excellent service, selection and pricing. A week later, I received a box with a Plextor coffee mug, a t-shirt and a bunch of stickers.
Just send an email(include your name and shipping address) to service@newegg.com .

This may have been posted before, but some folks might not have gotten in on the deal.

Here's # 2

Don't forget...there's an additional way for happy customers to get mo' goodies. Go to one of the sites I've listed below. and do a review. Then send an email to service@newegg.com along with the name you used to do the review and your email addie that you use to place orders at NewEgg. It's disappointing that THE best online reseller has fewer reviews than some sites which aren't nearly as good, but they were around before NewEgg came along and forced them to improve.

You HAVE to be a customer to qualify for the goodies. You CAN get more than one box of goodies per order by doing a) the Thank you email directly to NE customer service b) posting a review at any/all of the review sites listed above.
The bottom line on the rewards is NE knows that happy customers who get rewards place more frequent and larger orders.
I do NOT work for NE. I'm one of their original customers who's never had the slightest problem with any of the more than 30 orders(over $4500 worth) I've placed with 'em. That's not to say I haven't needed an RMA or two. I have, but they've been absolutely painless.

Actually...no!
Their CS manager, JD, has become a good buddy over the last two years. They are aware of the post and have a few thousand t-shirts, pens, case badges and other goodies awaiting those emails.
In addition to rewarding the loyal customers, JD and his staff keep an eye on these threads for any unhappy peeps. They don't generally post on the threads, but will PM or email anyone who's had any kind of problems so they can get 'em resolved. They take customer service VERY seriously.

Like I said...the customers who get rewarded place more frequent, larger orders. It's a win/win situation for NewEgg and us. That's straight from the horse's mouth...no offense JD.

Cool... newegg is really raising the bar so-to-speak on customer service online, and this is another way they're doing it. Thanks for the heads up!

Jeez, I can't even imagine a better online retailer for computer parts; these guys IMHO, are the gold standard. Customer service is very serious to these guys. They've more than proved it to me on two different product problems that were not their fault.

Thanks for the post. BTW, I am guilty of not reviewing Newegg also because they are so consistent.

I've had great experiences with NewEgg and recommend it to my friends, BUT, hypothetically, if I did have a rotten Egg experience, would this "reward" program influence my reviews? Guess what I'm saying is that rewarding good feedback may result in bias.

Hypothetically anything is possible. Anyone who has had Tufshop or Bzboyz experience, or knows of someone who has, couldn't be paid -unless they actually got what they paid for - to write a good review for a tee shirt from a company they they now loathe. I personally think most people wouldn't. I'm curious what caused one guy to post a negative on newegg? I've had dozens of purchases from newegg w/o problems - at least for the two I previously mentioned - that they did quickly resolve - and still want to strangle tigerdirect, compusa and buy.com for past sins. Really, I'm curious.

I think the most intresting thing about NewEgg is that they are minority (Asian owned). I realized this when they first got popular with a cheap 7000 series ATI Radeon. This was the card to have since it was so cheap and this is what put NewEgg on the map. I must have entered one number on my CC wrong and I got a call from a lady who had a heavy Asian accent. She was not exactly friendly, but gave me more of the "buy and get out of my store" stern Asian lady voice. I took no offense since I am Asian myself and have dealt with Asian owned stores.

Anyway, you can see more examples of this if you email their CS. They are very friendly but have less than perfect English. The reason I mention all of this, is generally it's difficult for such business to become accepted in mainstream America. NewEgg is *the* standard here for online computer purchases. They do everything right and act as a model to other stores. I also really like the design of their website. It's not too slick but it's very functional. They also have the best real world pics of their products, unlike other stores who just show a thumbnail from a mfg press kit.

I also have to assume they have some great and more "Americanized" Editors since their webpage doesn't suffer from the same piss-poor spelling like the infamous Brooklyn Digcam Scam Merchants.

Just my 0.02.

In the past 3 months I've spent over $1500 at Newegg.com.

In the next 3 months I'll spend nearly the same amount.

I hate to see them get screwed over like this by having someone post "How to get rewards from them." I say you only deserve a "reward" if you've spent over 2k there.

My reward for me is the hardware I get, and the free goodies they advertise on their site for when you buy. But hey, different strokes for different folks eh?

I suggest you go back and reread the entire thread. As I stated, their own CS manager told me that the rewards are actually a sales stimulus. What don't YOU understand?
And as for screwing them...I'd never knowingly do anything to hurt NE. They've treated me very well...just like 99% of the other folks posting.

There's no minimum purchase amount to qualify. If you're a happy customer...go get the goodies!

PLEASE go do the reviews at PriceGrabber so NewEgg can go past the # of reviews of places like TigerDirect and OogleGear. The best site deserves #1 status!!!

It's a testament to myself and the rest of Neweggs customers here that we are willing to pay more to buy from them.

Not really the propper forum, but I wanted to acknowledge that Newegg is my favorite online reseller because they listen to their customers. If this thread incourages more involvement, that can only take them further ahead of all other stores (period). You cannot even compare them to giants like CC and BB. When I need parts immediately, they consistantly offer the best price and service so I always use them.
