It's a testament to myself and the rest of Neweggs customers here that we are willing to pay more to buy from them.

Sorry, don't get where you're coming from. I've usually found NewEgg to have competitive pricing compared to other established retailers. When they aren't the lowest price, they're usually within a couple of percent. Yes. they are higher than some of the no-name retailers, but I'm not into online gambling. Might get a good deal, might get shafted. You always know that NewEgg sells legitimate goods and their service is excellent.

I have two minor issues with NewEgg. First, it would be nice if they had more complete product information. Not a show-stopper, but it's inconvenient to have to search around other web sites to find product information. The best in this respect was the old NEC-X, full details on every item they sold. Unfortunately, they went down hill after Gateway assimilated them.

My second "complaint" is that some of their shipping charges are high, especially if you're only ordering one or two items. This has gotten much better, and I've been happy to see more and more free-shipping deals. Still, if I only needed one thing and wasn't in a hurry, I've saved money by ordering from Amazon or someone running a free shipping promotion.

All in all, NewEgg does a great job. I'd recommend them to anyone.

I agree, full info on each item would be excellent. Other than that I have no complaints with Newegg and I'm about to drop $1600 there

dang, I did both a couple months ago. I got a AOpen t-shirt, an AMD green plastic pen, and 2 of the Newegg.com case badges.

Actually this is one of the reasons why I stopped buying from Newegg. Bribing people to write positive reviews about you is not right. What it means is now, none of the reviews can be trusted that are written about Newegg.

First it was the reviews about single products on their site they stopped allowing negative reviews, now this.

I've also purchased plenty from them in the past, and never have received one "gift". I remember the good old days when buy.com would send out gifts to their customers, for no reason.

did you read the post at all? they don't send unless you compliment them, one way or another.

Brilliant marketing. Happy customers write reviews, why not keep them happy with a couple free gifts? Who gives a rat's patoot about the people that buy one thing and go on. Repeat business is where its at for revenue.

Newegg also is not a good deal if you have to order multiple items, as they charge the full shipping price for each item ordered. They are the only retailer I know of that does this.

That's not entirely accurate. Besides all the "FREE EXPRESS SAVERS" that they have you also get a reduction of S/H when you purchase multiple items from the same category group.

I've spent thousands with them and they are the best online retailer I have ever dealth with over the past few years. For example, I had a Shuttle board that fried two of my GF3 Ti 500's on the exact same place on each of those cards. I finally attributed the malfunction to the MB not suppling enough voltage to the AGP slot neccessitating an increase in current to specific IC's on the card.

The point is the MB was bad and NEWEGG offer to refund my cost or replace it with an EPOX board with a KT 333 chipset. The Shuttle only had a KT266 chipset. This was after five months.

Needless to say they will always have my business with support like this.

Wow, you're a moderator? Interesting post for a moderator.

Just want to point out that you tried to order GROUND shipping from conus (continental US, aka MAINLAND), and you're in Hawaii. Hmmm.. I'm surprised UPS even allows ground shipping oconus. Tell you what, you find cheaper shipping from Southern California, and call newegg, and I'll bet they'll work with you.

There's an excellent reason why they use mutiple boxes for shipping...they have at least 4 seperate warehouses and items are shipped from the place they originate.

The bottom line price and quality of customer service as others have said...is second to none.

customer service is way better than DELL
There is no such thing as customer service at DELL
No kidding. I just tried to shop their Software & Accessories store for a server-sized UPS. I searched "All Categories" on the Home Office side for several keywords - no matches. On a hunch, I switched to Small Business, tried the same searches, and found lots of options. So, I sent them a "Contact Us" message saying that I thought this was a poor site design. A keyword search should return all matches regardless of customer category.

I just got back an automatic, "AI generated" e-mail explaining how to change my video properties, update video drivers, etc. Nothing in my message about video, but Dell apparently thinks that every problem is a video problem.

At least they didn't tell me to reboot or to reinstall Windows.:disgust:

(Edit: I did look at NewEgg first, but the biggest APC UPS they carry is 700VA. I need something like a SmartUPS 1500.)

That's a perfect illustration of why I love NE.
For a quite awhile, searching for a HSF at NewEgg meant having to troll through all the different socket types...478, 423, 462/A, slot A and trying to figger out which was fer what. It was very frustrating for an ADD peep like me. I sent JD an email and he added the ability to search by socket type, brand and cost. SWEET!

Here's what he said... "I'd like to do another mad gift sending spree. " I guess Mindreading 101 and 102 really did help

Let's get NewEgg the top spot!

As a longtime NE customer, I'd like to see us give them a gift. Help 'em pass the oldtimers like Ooglegear and PussycatDirect on the rating/review sites. NewEgg blows the other two away on both bottom line pricing, selection and definitely customer service. Ooglegear's been forced to improve their shipping and pricing since NE started and they have improved, but NE still has THE best CS around. As Zugzwang152 and others have said...NE is the gold standard.
Let's get NewEgg the trophy for best online reseller. They've earned it!

Go HERE and get 'em the top spot they deserve!

You have no idea what you are talking about, aren't you? How many times have you looked at an item's reviews at Newegg? There were a whole bunch of negative reviews there.
Newegg's reputation didn't come from "bribing", they deserve it. All too often people complain when a company provides poor customer service, yet fail to take the time to do the same thing when a company provides exceptional service. Newegg is asking you to take the time to do that, and your time is compensated, that's all.

Tell your bud to hook me up with one of those nice refurbished cases that sold out yesterday about 10 minutes after the post went up here!

Newegg rocks, I don't need to read any stinking reviews about them, however it should be duly noted that I have never posted a review for them, the total amount I spend is MIA, the wife is not in the know either(thank goodness), I think this idea is definetley a good one, how many of you actually post reviews for company's when you order? Can you think of the last time you did? People tend to remember the bad over the good so I think that this *bribe* is justified unless you happen to be someone who writes a review every so often or every time you make a purchase then this need not apply to you as Newegg
is trying to get THEIR SLACKER customers like me to give them some ratings whether it be good or bad.

I don't kiss up to anyone or any company and I only give praise to those that deserve it. Having said that, it's about time I left some positive feedback for them since I've been dealing with them for at least two years and have been happy everytime.

I really like newegg but I love resellerratings! There is no other place that gives power to the customer and the ability to hurt or benefit a company it patrons due to their experience. It's better than the BBB

Agreed on all points. I too am guilty of buying from NE for 2-3 years now and have never left a review. Perfect orders, 1 RMA cross-shipped no problem...

The only reason I'm thinking about ordering from Googlegear right now for an XP 1700+ is 'cause NE still has some TBred A's...

Hmmm,
1. Do you really think their customers will lie for a $5 t-shirt? This is really just a nudge to lazy bums like me who have had great service on several orders but have never gotten around to rating them.

2. They might block stupid "this sux0rs! arrrgghhh!" reviews, but I've seen many neutral and (coherent) negative reviews. I've even left a warning myself on the Panflo 120mm to point out the supplied connector is (as pictured) bare wires instead of a 4pin. (My fault for not noticing)

3. So you're really bitter because they don't also send freebies for doing nothing? Mmmkay.

I posted a review @ Pricegrabber & received an email back saying thanks & that they would be sending me a free item.

I have ordered from them enough that my fiance thinks I am addicted to Newegg. I have had good experiences from them & would like to get a shirt just to spread the word one wee bit. I was even thinking about buying one. (Crosses fingers & hopes for free T.)

I've spent a few thousands at newegg myself over the years...I always reccomend newegg to anybody i know looking to buy computer parts. They might not be the cheapest always but your right about customer service...it is indeed top notch except for the rare few occasions i called CS about something... it might have been bad luck but i spoke with rather unhelpful people on at least 2 occasions. I guess i'll have to take some time out and rate newegg as well as some other great vendors like googlegear and provantage. Im not all excited about getting a pen or t-shirt tho so thats not the reason i plan on writing the reviews.
