I work as a computer tech. Due to the lousy job market, I am under-employed (as many are in the industry right now) but aside from that, I usually deal with internal customers and therefore have little need to give out business cards. Generally, I would use my cards for entry into free lunches and such.

I wonder how much money they spend sending all these goodies out? I like getting the free gifts, but I just wonder how long they can keep giving out free stuff?

As I stated in the original post of this thread...the happy customers who receive these rewards place larger, more frequent orders. NewEgg wins by sending out the rewards. They more than pay for themselves.

I must be an idiot, I ordered something from newegg. Of course it arrived damaged, and they want me to ship it back, and wait several weeks before they refund my money or ship me a replacement.

Newegg SUCKS!!!!!

As for the damaged item...
Let's look at your statement based on facts...1) You're located in California(from your profile) as is NewEgg. It should only take a couple days to send it parcel post to NE. Cost depends on the item.
2) NE will probably credit you for that cost 3) I've never had a problem with NE RMA's ...and I've done quite a few. If cross shipping is what ya want...try calling the 800# and talk NICELY to the CSR. Chances are, if you're reasonable, you'll get what ya want.

A suggestion to the wise....
If you receive a damaged or DOA item, call them to do the RMA. You'll be more able to explain the situation and end up a happier camper. That's based on my personal experience.

Read the rest of the comments pspada...the rest of us love 'em. I'm not a lemming... NewEgg earned my respect based on their performance with over 30 orders of mine!

My point is that when I have received defective merchandise right out of the box from ANY OTHER company, they will generally ship a new item right away, rather than forcing me to wait until they have received the RMA'ed item back. Of course they take the credit card number, but don't charge it unless they have not received the defective item back. This is not the case with newegg, they force you to order another, and ship the original back, not crediting the original order for several weeks.

My last RMA was credited 2 days after they received it...NOT several weeks. They've never taken that long on any of mine. I checked my Chase bill to verify.

Yep, New Egg pretty much has the BEST RMA in our business. Only took a day or 2 after they receive my RMA's to credit my account.

Wonderful. If I did not have to wait a week for the new item to arrive, and about a week for the defective one to get to them and be credited, I would not be complaining. Maybe my math skills have atrophied, but as I recall that adds up to about 2 weeks.

Perhaps if they would expidite the replacement to me I would not be so peeved, but why the heck should I have to pay extra for overnight and quick processing, when the original item i received is defective? I been in the industry for over 20 years, and never had this poor customer service from a vendor before. But it is true that I'm must be an idiot for ordering from them, instead of just going to Mwave or googlegear, whom I've never had such problems with. I just wanted to try newegg, as so many in these forums recommend them. Apparently, many in these forums are just used to crappy service, so they can not tell the difference between newegg and a reputable vendor.

They upgraded my shipping to overnite when I called for an RMA, ordered another and send the defective back.

Lemme guess...You work for GoogleGear, right?

Answer this question! Did you or did you not call their 800#? If not, then you're the problem.Your refusal to follow suggestions leads me to believe you're not reasonable.
IF you give them the chance to right the wrong...they WILL do so. Read the previous post. That's precisely why the rest of us love them. They make us happy when crap happens!!!

If you're located in California as your profile indicates, it shouldn't take a week to get things to or fro...but you've jumped to your own conclusions without any experience on NE rma's. Your loss my friend.

Make yourself available for good things to happen!

I called them again to explain that it was not their quality control I had a problem with as was noted on my RMA, but the problem appeared to be a manufacturing defect they had no control over. I then told the rep I spoke to, a nice guy named Ceasar, that it was the long turn around time that really bothered me if I order a replacement from them. At that point we discussed how lamea$$ Fedex is (they refuse to deliver a package until it is due, even when it arrives locally much earlier), and he upgraded my shipping to overnight too, so I will have the replacement tomorrow.

Now I'm happy. If the reps I spoke to before Ceasar had been a little more helpful to begin with, I would not have been disgruntled in the first place.

Glad you gave 'em a chance pspada!
Their customer service is top flight 99% of the time. If someone has a bad day...go up a level and get a manager to fix the problem.

yo, i'm kind of bummed. i've sent newegg two emails regarding positive reviews i've given them at three of the ratings sites listed here. i included my email addr AND user name on those sites. all i've gotten back so far is a "thank you" email that looks like it's probably auto-generated. no free stuff :-( considering the thousands i've spent with newegg over the years you'd think they could do something for me. i'd love one of those b-card holders - i could actually use it!

pc911, you seem to have an in at newegg ... think you could put in a good word for me?! ;-)

thanks,

joe

I too got no "reward" by email and post reviews. And got only "thank you" email back. I did a count of my newegg order in 2 years. Its over 40 orders. No wonder my wife conplain.
May be those rewards are hand out in randomly. We just got no luck.
Still the reviews on newegg are true. They are a good store.

My nice email full of praise was ignored. I received nothing in the mail or even an email acknowledging me!

I too left 2 reviews at different sites. Sent a notice email to newegg as they requested and haven't seen anything.

We must sound like a bunch of whiny, greedy, losers in this thread.

Spoke with da man awhile ago and got the scoop... It's ALL good!

NewEgg's growing by leaps and bounds. The great word of mouth has grown their business...BIGTIME! The CS staff has been slammed...the good news is... they've hired additional staff to take care of the growth. He assured me the Rewards/Free Gifts are extremely important. I sent him all the info I could gather from the profiles of the folks reporting they'd not received anything. He'll get those folks taken care of...

I'll remind you what was stated at the start of this thread...The Free Gifts are for existing NewEgg customers who have sent praise emails and/or done reviews at the sites listed in post #1. Seems like there are some folks doing reviews who are NOT customers and expecting the goodies. If that's you...you don't qualify.
