If it works ok for me. Someone might had it and it didnt do what they wanted or they found the same board cheaper somewhere else and sent it back. Doubt it was broke or theyw ould have it in REFREBUISH section for repiared item. SO DONT LEAVE THE EGG.

If the overnight me a new board at their current price ($10 cheaper than a few days ago)
I'll be fine.
But this is BS.

I bought a Epox 8RDA+ from Newegg a couple weeks ago. It is installed and working fine, but I noticed the following:

Epox mobo box was sort of crushed in one side.
Motherboard has some pins bent over where headers or plugs attatch. I was able to gently bend s those pin on the mobo back straight, but it bothered me that they were bent.

These items made me wonder who and why the box my mobo came in had been mishandled... like I said, damage was minor and correctable, but this didn't give me the warm fuzzies.

UPDATE:
I ordered another NF7-S from newegg- $101 shipped overnight (their offer)
I took it
I ship my board back
that's fine I guess- this new board better be a NEW one!

Glad to hear it.

I bench-tested mine last night...booted up fine. Also gave the board a good once over and did not see any signs of use/damage. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed and hope that I won't run into any complications after I install it tonight or tomorrow. I'll still be giving Newegg a call though, and letting them know my concerns...particularly after reading thru the posts here again.

Don't want to jump the gun yet but I am having problems with Googlegear on an item I returned because it was DOA. They tell me it was mangled when they got it back and don't want to replace it. It is a long story which has not resolved itself yet. I personally would steer clear of them at this point.

I usually buy my mobos at MWAVE, they have never steered me wrong.
My last one was at Newegg though, a Gigabyte GA-8KNXP it shipped sealed and new.
But thanks for the Heads up, I'll stay clear from ordering from them for awhile.

I have a question that is a little OT, but this thread seems like a good place to put it. I ordered an N7F-S from Newegg and I should receive it tomorrow. I usually buy from Newegg without question, but reading this stuff will make me look closer.

The question I have concerns shipping. It appears my motherboard was shipped from Edison, NJ, not California, like usual. Has anyone received anything from Newegg that came from New Jersey? Maybe it's just getting shipped from a distributor, but I've never seen this before.

Most online sellers ship from a distributor. There are only a few of them and the two biggest are Ingram Micro and Tech Data. I would guess that 90% or more of the stuff you buy online comes from one of the two. They both have 5 or 6 warehouses across the country and I forget which one owns the NJ one.

MWave is one seller who ships from their own warehouse and NewEgg may as well. Some will ship from their own stock if they have it else it goes out through one of the distributors.

I think most online dealers are just an office with some phones and have nothing at all in stock at their location.

Where did you get the board? If the thermister is melted, someone may have burnt it out before you got it. I've heard of NewEgg regularly reselling RMAd boards before as new. I don't know if they're still in the process of doing so...

did you get another MB that seems used again? I personally wouldn't buy any core computer components such MB, video card from them since they have so much refurb sales, which leads me to wonder why they have so much reburb products? and now they've built a name for themselves, would they cut a few corners to save money? i believe they would, many companies can't resist the temptation to save a few bucks. OEM memory is also very easy to sell as new so i always stay clear of that. If you can get a full refund they there's no reason to be to frustrated.

I received my N7F-S today. It was shipped from NJ, so apparently it came from a distributor. It looks like a brand new board and all the extras were still sealed. The board was in a anti-static bag, but not sealed. So far, so good.

BTW, they made a small change in that they now include a combo USB2.0/Firewire port add-on instead of two separate pieces. It has 2 USB ports, a single large Firewire port and a single small Firewire port (i-Link?) like the one on my camcorder.

Of course, I still need to test it out.

Why the surpised 'looks' for getting used products from Newegg. It's been mentioned on here for a long time that they do this. And always to use Mwave instead.

I have bought quite a bit of stuff from Newegg and do not recall getting anything used as new.

Then, when I really think about it, I buy refurbs from them most of the time.

I suggest everyone having the problem to post the experience on resellerrating.com and other similar places.

I can honestly say Ive bought over $10,000 in PC hardware from newegg! Building PCs for myself, family, friends and Customers. They have never gave me anything but A1 service hands down even on returning hardware. I love not having to deal with some tech support person to return a bad part!!! I do hope this isnt something they start doing I just hope its a newbie pulling from the referb parts maybe. Id hate to find another place to start buying hardware after depending on them as much as I do. I have noticed some small changes on their website but nothing worth worring about. I will keep my fingers crossed! You have to give them credit because they ALWAYS try and make it right for the CUSTOMER when things like this happen; which most companys could give a rats ass!

So to newegg you guys rule so please dont let us down now!!

Interesting comments.

I have spent thousands and thousands of dollars with Newegg over quite a number of years (I do IT for a living as well as a hobby). As a matter of fact even before they were Newegg (remember Egghead Software) they were on my short list of IT vendors. My son has dealt with them for a few years as well (he too does IT for a living) as well as the two friends that turned me on to Newegg. None of us has had one single problem in all the transactions over the years. The few times I (my son too) have had a DOA or ???, Newegg has ALWAYS been very supportive and reponsive.

All products (ranging from speakers, to monitors, to motherboards and processors, to cases, etc. etc. etc.) have ALWAYS been shipped from their LA area installation.

I will continue to deal with Newegg as they have consistantly proven that they are worthy of their reputation and customer loyalty.
