You have to search the archives. It was also usually abbreviated as TD (Or 2 words) which may some threads/comments harder to find.

Here's One that I started. Anand actually pulled Tiger's ads from the forum over the outpouring from members who told TD to go screw. Have they changed since 2001-2002? Maybe. Their recent reseller ratings suggest they may have. Do I trust them? Not a chance in hell.

That is what caused the phone card thing IIRC. Tiger gave someone else the customer info, and that someone else actually did the charge. It was in 2000 or 2001 so my memory isn't great, but it was finally tracked back to TD by some forum members. I should state I never got one of those charges on my CC, but others did.

Bro bought a motherboard from tigerdirect, they just taped the board's box shut, slapped a shipping label on it, and shipped it. No packaging at all. Yeah, that board came broken, box got smacked in the corner, crushing it, and snapping pieces off the board. Tigerdirect's response to his complaint? "Oh, well, sorry" and refused to do anything about it.

Granted, this was a while back, but I don't want to risk crap like that, among other issues I've heard.

I bought an OEM HD from Newegg and it was in a box way too big for the drive with nothing but packing peanuts. The drive didn't last a year, I can't blame Newegg, maybe it would have died anyways. but that was a horrible shipping job on a HD, something that needs to be packed well.

From what I've read by others, this is pretty typical for their HD shipping.

I have ordered about 20 HD's in the last year or so, and they all had the little plastic clam shell and then a bunch of packing peanuts. Maybe newegg uses whatever material the manufacturer ships the drives in? Mine were all seagate. *shrug*

How would you pack them? Maybe we can start something and send it to their packing department.

Why I buy my HDs from ZZF. I've heard way too many horror stories of how Newegg packs oem parts. If you read some of the Newegg reviews on their oem drives, someone has received a poorly packed hd.

ZZF puts their drives in a plastic clamshell then places it in a foam sleeve then a box of peanuts. :thumbsup:

Capt Caveman they do a bad job, now that EvadMan mentions it, mine have have those plastic clamshells, but no foam or even bubble wrap. Last one I got I shook the box around and the HD moved around like crazy. I could only imagine what UPS did to it lol. But with that said if i do normal shipping before 4PM I have it the next day, so I guess I can't expect everything
